Glad you're OK Ken.  Jim will take care of the bike....good as new.

What street is that?   Looks to be over by Sand Hill.

Glad you are OK. Plenty of damage for 5 mph. Just letting the clutch out is 5 mph.

Hi Ken,

my condolences to you too.

It seems the 2013 season starts not so well for a few of us ...

Thanks guys.  I appreciate the good words.

They will pay for replacing it, but it is far from a lot of damage.  The impact  caught the ridge on the top left side.  If it was not just a few months old, without a mark and cost around $600 bucks, I would have just let it go.  But, since this is a brand new helmet, they're going to pay to replace it.

GEICO will reimburse up to $400.00, the rest will have to come directly from Loss Prevention and the Contractor.

Hey JC:

You're right!  My office is on Searsville Road.  It can be found at 169 Searsville Rd, Stanford, CA for anyone who might be curious.

Looking at the first picture, at the end of the street, it turns right onto Oak Road.  Down Oak Road a few hundred yards the next intersection is Stock Farm Rd.  Turn left, the next intersection will be Sand Hill Road.

FYI:
Looking at a the current maps or satellite images, it will show a golf course across the street from my office.  It was a par 3 practice course that was built a few years ago when they were trying to attract Michelle Wei to Stanford.  It worked.  The nine hole coarse was only there for around four years and was privately funded by a local benefactor.  They are building a new state-of-the-art power plant for heating and chilled water to serve the entire campus.  It will be the most advanced in the country for energy savings.  It will be a prototype and functional demonstration model.  The main golf course remains untouched.  Whew!

Ken, Sorry about you misfortune.  But glad all is being taken care of and most important you are fine.  Worse things
have happened at such low speeds.  Glad that helmet worked as intended.  Oh yeah glad it was a leg pic not a (o) pic.   :huepfenlol2:

It seems I got a bit of a fabric burn too.

This would not have happened had I put my chaps on. Lesson learned. At 70 MPH, it's not hard to imagine what would have happened.  :'(

Glad you're ok. Could have been alot worse even at slow speeds. Bikes can be fixed. Site is just glad your fabric burn wasn't on your butt(with pic's)

OK, that's funny right there...

Not funny is the accident Ken but glad you are relatively OK and that the bike can be and will be fixed.  Risk management is correct in pursuing the contractor for making retribution to you and GEICO for creating an unsafe condition.  Keep us posted.

Ken,

Between the surgeries and now this you are having a tough winter!  Glad to see that you are okay and that the bike had only minor damage.  I think that some wine will improve your spirits!

Glad you are basically OK, that doesn't look much worse than a carpet burn :huepfenjump3:!!! Just goes to show us old men are pretty tuff.

Hey Ernie:

Right you are. I'm ready for some good riding this spring and summer.

We're going to Murphys the weekend of April 13th. We've got five bikes going and a total of 24 people so far. We're staying at the Victoria Inn.
