I always put free nitrogen in all my tires---- I just except the 21% oxygen with it  :orange:

I thought nitrogen in the tires was hocus-pocus.  At one point they started offering it for free if you bought your tires from that dealerships (Eagles Nest in Lathrop, Ca.).  I thought "what the hell, it's free".

Almost from the start I noticed that I was no longer loosing air like I used to (just a few lbs.).  The next time Terrie's bike was due for tires, I had it put in her's also.  I started checking the pressure less and less.

Probably not a good idea to go that long between checking tire pressure. But it got to the point where the only pressure I was loosing in mine or hers was from me checking the pressure and for no other reason.  It actually got to the point where I think I checked the pressure only once or twice during the life of the tires, the last two or three sets.

Now I've had nitrogen put in the tires of my 5th wheel trailer as well as my truck.  Nitrogen is actually available at the Ford dealership, too.  Kind of like synthetic oil.....was kind of hard to find and many thought it was hocus-pocus but now it's available just about everywhere and people swear by it now.  I think it'll be the same with nitrogen.......in a few years every tire shop in America will have it.  Costco stores has nitrogen (and free top off, if you bought your tires there) now.  There's a reason NASCAR uses it and airlines require it.....it works!  :2vrolijk_21:

By the way, Costco has the meter that tells you what percentage of nitrogen you have in your tires.  You want it as high as possible but at least 93% is what the nitrogen institute calls for.......I prefer 95%-98%.

Here's a link for those that are curious and want to learn more....   http://www.getnitrogen.org/

I was never really sure in regard to the claims of cooler tires and more even wear but the thing that put me over the top was a guy I worked with had pressure sensors in his car tires and every month or so the low pressure light would go off. He finally got fed up with this and put nitrogen in and it has been over a year without the light. Guess those big molecules do the job! :2vrolijk_21:

If it is good enough to breathe, it is good enough for my tires. Main thing I do is check and fill at home where I filter/dry my air, I can see where moisture is hard on the tires and will cause air pressure/heat range to fluctuate, Otherwise, no one, will ever convince me to pay for "air".
