Puck,
Regarding the LA Chopper 13" handlebar installation.  Do you think the existing clutch and brake lines can be used?  LA has an excellent video showing the install and I'm confident in all aspects except the clutch and brake line work.  I'm also wondering if the heated grips on my 2010 Ultra will be an issue.  Did the bars come with a wiring extension kit? Thanks for all the input on this topic!!

RK,

I put on the Yafee 12" bars which are really abou 13" and YES they need to be changed. I think the new lines were +6" over stock.

By the way, the clutch and brake lines are really simple. I replaced all of my lines.

Stuffing the wiring down the bars is a BIT#CH!

All done.  Thought you would like to know I did not have to extend anything for the Yaffe 10 inch Monkey Bars.  I had to cut the wire pins off the harness to get around the hairpin turn in the bars.  That was it.

My friend, a Harley mechanic, takes a bicycle chain and attaches the wires going through the bars to one end of the chain.  He then drops the chain through the bars and it falls out the other end with the wires attached.   :2vrolijk_21:  never takes him hours, only minutes to run wires through a set of handlebars!

Rosco,

You've got to give me that dash pad! I love those darn things but I'm too cheap to cough up the cash for it.

They look awesome!

Thanks,  I'm really enjoying the bars.  I cut the pins at the plug, HD replacement part.  Stripped the insulation about 1/8 inch and soldered new pins back on.  It was a lot easier for the harness to make the turn.  I got myself the new Screaming Eagle Agitator Air Cleaner to match the wheels...Dash wasn't that expensive, $169.95 pt # 58262-05.  In case your wondering, I took off the forward speaker fairings.  I like the look of it being open and the bike defiantly runs cooler without them.   Thanks for the feedback...

Hey Rosco,
I really like your mods..I had a couple questions.  With the 10" Yaffee bars, do they block the stock mirrors? If so, which bar mirrors did you add? On the air cleaner, did you need to re-tune bike? and does it stick out much more than stock.

Thanks!!

SESG12,

No problem man,  I purchased 2012 CVO Convertible Mirrors.  HD stock # 92341-09A & 92342-09A The backside are ribbed to match the theme of the bike. They are about 160.00 bucks for the set.  I never liked the batwing mounted mirrors, I mean I tried for a while but I can't get used to them, besides I get a great view of my forearms. To fill the holes in the batwing, I purchased Kuryakyn mirror hole covers for now, I'll eventually find something less cumbersome.

The Screaming Eagle Air Cleaner does not stick out enough to notice the difference between the stock air cleaner.  That thing is awesome, real nice design but a little pricey about $350.00 PT# 29400064 BTW you don't need to have it Dyno'd if that's all your replacing.  My ride is slowly coming together the way I want it but the biggest bang so far was the Yaffe's...

Thanks Rosco,

I think the aircleaner is next. Wanted to change, but unsure of what matched well. Price not a major concern considering we started with a 30k+ bike. I asked about the Yaffee Bars, cause my friend has them on order. I'll text ride on his, but I'm happy with the stock.

You have hottoppers as well?

Sorry for all the questions.. but seeing and talking to people has been great when considering extras and changing out stock. BTW.. I have a klock works hugger series front fender being painted to match. Will post pics when I get it back.

Cheers!

Rosco,
Thanks for the additional pics! Bike looks great! Where is Franklin Sq? I'm in Jersey a few miles from GWB.
