Phase 7 Trucklite or HD Daymakers?
« on: February 26, 2013, 08:18:46 PM »

Has anyone had the opportunity to do a direct bike to bike comparison of these lights? My next upgrade is going to be LED Head and passing lights. I don't mind spending the money for the Daymakers if I'm getting a better product. I've searched and it looks like those that have went to LED lights are happy either way but it would be nice to know how they compare side to side.

This is one of the best reviews of the Phase 7 versus the Harley LED headlights

Great review. I love my TL P7 headlamp and passing lamps. They cost half what the H-D units do, too. Can't beat that!

Thanks a lot Steve!! That review is exactly what I was looking for. After reading it, and seeing the side by side pictures, I guess I'll be buying the TL Phase 7 set and putting the extra money I would have spent on the H-D lights toward my next mod.

Thanks again,

Joe

I have a set of Truck-lite passing lamps and a gen 6 headlight for sale.  Just throwing it out there if you haven't purchased yet.  I ran them on my Limited and love love love them.  Bought a Road Glide and cant use them..

Without going into all the little intricacies of that test it seems as the HD light almost gets it right except for the price and shortened warranty.

And since the selling page is now blocked  :nixweiss: how long did you use those lamps? Road scars?

Thanks funbiker. If I do go with the Trucklites it'll be the Phase 7 version. Honestly, I'm probably going to buy the Daymakers. This thread was to try to talk me out of them. Even after reading the review over and over I'm still on the fence so my money's still in my pocket.

That's what the JW Speaker light is for....so you get the best without giving the MOCO any more money for something that should be standard on a $35k cycle. I think the best price is at KBCarstuff.com

Just a thought on the price comparo.  I just ordered my TL/Kury P7 set (HL+2PL) from these folks.  $370 to my door.

Hi Big Lew,

I found the same deal and that's what started my questions. $370 is half the price of the Daymakers.

I was just talking to a friend at my HOG chapter who has the Phase 7 lights on his bike. I'm going to meet with him later this week to see them in action. Now I need to find someone with the Daymakers.

I do know a guy that just bought a 2013 CVO Road Glide and I believe they have daymakers in them from the factory but will the two lights on the RG be comparable to the one light on an EG?

I'm still looking at the Hamstar...Canadian made and 4 diodes each for high and low....didn't get the follow-up info from my first contact....just spoke to another person and am supposed to be getting more specs and harness specifics from him soon.

I'm not in favor of giving my $$ to the  moco , But when I switched out my regular headlight on my   '12 cvo rgc to the daymakers , WOW  :bananarock: :mango: :2vrolijk_21: :orange:  I was amazed at the IMPROVEMENT  and  the SAFETY FACTOR TOO.   I 'm going to order them for my other  2  cvo's  at LSHD  and get the 20 % off to keep the price down.
