Update on paint issue
« on: February 26, 2013, 09:49:51 PM »

Hi folks,

I wanted to give an update on this in case any of you ever run into it, you will have at least one anecdote regarding the resolution.

I had a paint peel just under the front of the front fender that was starting to make it's way to the outside lip of the fender.

My dealer took lot's of pictures as evidence for the MoCo.

He called the regional specialist.  They did not even want to see the pictures.  they ordered an immediate replacement fender-no questions asked.

The fender actually was shipped from Gunslinger, the paint folks, out of Denver.  It arrived in about 3 weeks, and the dealer has the new fender in place now.

I'm away on vacation so i won't see it for a couple of weeks, but no doubt I had a VERY positive experience with the MoCo on this issue.

Now, if there had been 10,000 miles on the bike instead of 1000, perhaps they would have questioned a little more....I hope I don't have to find out!

I had a similar issue with the tank on my bike before the sale was complete....there was a new tank on the bike within 3 days.  The moco is pretty good when it comes to CVOs.

Always good to hear the about the good side of HD and their dealers.  I have what I would consider to be a great dealer but I have heard some real horror stories concerning dealers and HD.

Yea, unfortunately we have one of those in my town.  The oldest Harley dealer(been in business since 1911), and they are universally hated around here!

I actually live 3 miles from one of their three dealerships and never go in.   My two dealers I use are each about 45 minutes from me....

And yes, I agree, I hope this experience bodes well for how the MoCo will treat CVO issues in the future.   Heck, we need some kind of special treatment for our $26k  !!

I wish I was so lucky. I got A rock chip and purchased the touch up kit from the Mo Co. The paint blistered up the orig. paint. Dealer said Holy Chit this is just wrong and will get it straightened out with factory. Been hounding them since July they say they are still working on it. Sure they are.

while we are on tis subject has anyone got a suggestion or hasa tank protector bra or something for long runs or pack riding  for cvobreakout , the only bra ive seen looks like it would do more damage than the road itself?
