Look into Vance & Hines Pro Pipe HS, and D&D Fatcat. Those two come to mind right of the bat.

I agree with Altugo.  I really like the Thunderheader.  It may be a little noisy at first, but everyone agrees it sounds great.  It has the look and the performance you are looking for.

The D&D will look the best after 6 months (heat shields cover all discoloration) and performance is great, thunderheaders are a great performing pipe but even with the heat shields the blueing is exposed and looks terrible and with the v&h the actual muffler portion of the pipe sometimes blue pretty badly. I personally was a fan of the thunderheader until I visited this website and saw some pictures of the D&D Fat Cat and saw how good it looked after months of use!!! [smiley=pumpkin.gif]

The Thunderheader is a good performing pipe but there are issues with the chroming quality.
Also the blowback on the pipe is always a pain.

Totally agree.  Great sound and performance. Chrome not as good as Vance and Hines.

I have the D & D's, after 17K I am happy with the quality and the sound. Inquire about the baffles to get the sound you want.  I have the ones that make less noise and they are loud enough for me.

I bought the V&H Pro Pipe HS because BC Gerolamy said that although the Thunderheader also makes good power it creates a dip in the torque curve with my set-up. I am pleased with the train-like pull of my torque.

However the muffler does blue. I still like it coz I love the power delivery.

My compression blew the baffle out. But I still love the power and trust BC Gerolamy's experience.

I have just ordered a replacement muffler.

No gain without pain!

The Thunderheader is a great pipe for the EVO & Twin cam motors. There are much better choices for the 103 & up strokers. If your running a 103" that's not highly modified go with the D&D fatcat, Bassani Road Rage or maybe the Rheinhart 2:1.

If you are heavily modified with a 103" or bigger then go with the D&D Borezilla. The best #'s out there with the best torque curve. The build & chrome are way above everyone else IMHO. The darn thing just whales from bottom to top!

Good luck in your search

Installed SuperTrapp's on mine.  So far so good.  A bit on the loud side but I am told not as loud as V&H or others.  You can make them louder if you want.  I had a baseline Dyno run by my dealer while everything was stock.  Adding the SE Air and 2:1's got me 10 points improvement ine each area.  Fit and finish were fine on my bike but if you have a six speed you may have issues with clearance.

I guess the "best" debate covers a lot of territory depending on what you are looking for.  I went with the Reinhart 2:1 because I like the look and sound of the Reinharts.  A very close second was the D&D Fatcats 2:1 with standard baffle.  Based on my engine mods (Zipper's 575's), the performance of each is a toss up and the quality is the same.  I have two friends with CVO's and the Supertrapp 2:1 and they perform as well, but they were having trouble with the bolts that retain the discs snapping off.  My advice is to go with what you really like best in terms of look and sound.
