I'm looking for a 2006 Autumn Haze FLHTCUSE to replace my '04 EG that I had exactly the way I wanted it until a hit and run driver destroyed the bike in a parking lot a couple of weeks ago.  

The '06 paint scheme is my hands down favorite with the Autumn Haze of all of the HD's--and it may be due to my dead butt but I haven't felt a significant difference between the older frame and '09 and newer frames; the 6-speed means nothing to me having done a few IBA certified rides and several yearly trips requiring 600 mile days; and, I ride where having a 6 gallon tank exceeds my "durability" to stay on the bike much more than 2 or 2.5 hours--though I did love the Corbin Classic solo for comfort.

I've read here about paint issues with the Autumn Haze in '06 and would like some pointers in what to look for when inspecting a bike.

PS:  I saw hacksaw's listing for the tins in the classifieds and have given that some thought; i.e. buy a non-CVO and replace the tins.  Still thinking about that.

I have the Autumn Haze 06, since new.  There were paint issues in 06 but thee Autumn Haze had the least amount of issues.  I think there was a pole some years ago here on the site relating to who had paint issues with the 06.

I have 0 paint issues ever & have two other friends with this color with no paint issues.

It my opinion... it is the best color combo HD ever did on the CVO until 10 or 11 when they brught back the Autumn Haze on the SC, that was also a great paint scheme.

Look at the bike, after all it is 6 years old, if the paint is good now, it will be good.
