Don't know what to think.  Victim says the truck hit him but six of eight witnesses say there was no contact.  Only the two of them know the truth.  I am very religious when dealing with other motorists, especially angry ones - I am a devout coward.  Let them go.  It is not worth arguing, gesturing, etc., and you will most likely be on the losing end when tangling with a four (or more) wheeler.

Not to blame the rider, but this issue could have been avoided. Let the angry drivers drive away.

Everyone driving a car should show a certain amount of courtesy to bike riders knowing how little protection we have!

Thoughts?  This is a "no brainer. ".   We all hope the biker / victim recovers. To expect extra courtesy from cages will lead to disaster.  From the article:

You don't bring a knife to a gunfight and you don't take a motorcycle to argue with a truck.  That's why ants don't fight with shoes.
