Kury 24 cam installed, waiting for tune.
« on: March 06, 2013, 09:37:42 PM »

I just installed the new Kuryakyn 24 cam, and am waiting on a tune. Excited to see what it does. Mike Roland himself is doing the tune sometime soon.

Can't wait to hear how the dyno comes out I'd be really excited,  One of the other 24d's just got dynotuned although it had a little bit done to it.

110" build  CVO Roadglide
Crusher Powercell primaries, Crusher Mellows
TC24D cams
58 MM FBY with SE squirters
TTS 2, Map by Cycle Dynamics
.030 Cometics, Exhaust short side fluffed (there was a wall from the factory).
Heads would pass NHRA Stock rules.

Bowtech, What has been done to your bike before the cam install? I don't know if this cam comes in both chain and gear drive but which is yours? I'm very interested to see the results, as I was minutes away from buying a Feuling 574 when I came across some treads of the TC24. Best of luck with the results!

I set the comp at 10:1 per Mike Rolands request. I took .025 off the heads and am using a .030 HG. I have the V&H power dual head pipe with Crusher mellows installed. Mike will be calling me soon when we get better weather for tuning. 2 feet of snow here right now. I am excited to see how it turns out also, and would be tickled if it came close to the dyno sheet posted above. I am coming off a very stout 117" that made 136/139, so this will be backwards for me. I guess I am ok with that for now.

The one above also has a 58 mm TB.  Are you also adding a larger TB?

Might want to also consider some beehive springs.

Manley or Av&v for choices in that order

I am in Minnesota. The TB is stock, and for his tune he wanted it stock. I may change some day, but for now this is where it stays. Not sure how much tq/hp the 58 would add, but I know from experience that chasing HP costs $$$$$$$$! For now, if it is between 110/120 I will ride it. I spent a lot just getting the skunk! I need to do some more work in the shop so I can make a little more play money:) My only concern is if the stock clutch will even handle what it will put out now??

My 2010 I added heavier clutch spring. My 2012 has handled it just fine with no upgrade.

Sorry Silverone I disagree strongly with even the suggestion of this.  In my opinion time has already told.   The 103 was/is by far the better motor combination with more mileage on them before they fail or start to fail.   110= a 20-35k motor   103= 85k and still counting.  Many people if asked would have bought their 110's with 103's given the choice especially after the first few years of delivery.

The '05 SEEG (PC III, K&N, stock pipes/mufflers) will smoke the '09 SERG (FuelPak, ThrottlePak, K&N, V&H PowerDuals, RSD mufflers).

The 110 is all low end and falls on its face around 3,800rpm.

'Just did the 50k service on the '05 SEEG, tensioner kit installed under warranty around 40k as preventive maint. (no failure). The drive train has been zero drama.

10k on the '09 SERG, no drama with the drive train yet... have had tire drama (F&R), handling drama.

The '09 SERG is in process of SE Stage III Pro Kit and Cartridge Forks. (Maybe then, it will run and handle as good as the stock '05 SEEG :'()

My good friend just had to split the cases on his Skunk at 16k (probably rods)

I have a feeling that I will get a lot of use of the ESP on the '09...
