delivery time
« on: March 10, 2013, 09:31:22 PM »

According to my dealer the 2013 CVO ultra that I have on order was built on January 3rd. It is now March 10th. I called the dealer wondering if they had gotten any word on it and they hadn't received any notice yet . The dealer said normally they will receive a list of VIN numbers a day or two before the bikes arrive. The dealer said my bike should be coming soon . I know its not riding weather quite yet here in southern Ontario Canada but there's an empty space in my garage just anxiously waiting to be filled .I know it takes time from the time it's built to await clearance for shipping and to clear customs and to arrive to Deeleys ( our wonderful Canadian distributor ) before it can be released to the dealer but I think it should be here by now. Has any one gone through this experience ? How long should it take ? Am I getting over anxious ? Your feedback is welcomed. Sheef.

I will be curious to see how this works. Things up there are definitely different than the lower 48. Down here 3 to 4 weeks is an eternity, two months is an agony! Do you have your vin#?

No I have not received anything. To top it all off I traded my old bike in on this deal and the dealer already sold it. So as I said I've got an empty space in my garage that I keep looking at that is making things a bit antsy for me. Since my dealer is closed on Monday's (winter hours ) I'll call again tomorrow to see what's going on.

Down here,if it has shipped the can give you a vin#.  I don't know how Deeley handles their bikes but a few months seems a bit long. :nixweiss:

Well I called my dealer today to have them find out where my bike is and after looking through their paperwork discovered the build date for the bike was 01/03/13 which is March 1st. Apparently the manager read the date wrong and had been telling me the build was January 3rd. He deeply apologised for the mistake and said the bike should be arriving soon. I guess I should be somewhat relieved but I'll continue to wait.

That sures an odd date signature for a US company. Here is the US we always say Month, Date, then Year.

Thanks everyone for the well appreciated encouragement. I hope it arrives shortly. FYI.... I just checked the right bottom corner of my computer screen and it is showing    day/month/year.

Sheef,

The date structure doesn't seem right. But giving the dealer the benefit, the only thing that makes me wonder is that if they told you back in January, it seems odd that they would know a March 1st date that far in advance.  Our dealer didn't have the bike details on their computer until a few weeks before delivery.

Back to my original question, do they have the Vin #?  If it is built, they should have it. If they don't or wont share it - somethings not right. :nixweiss:

Keep us posted and good luck!

Sorry, but yes it has finally arrived. Just waiting for a couple of nice rains to wash away the salt left on the roads. In the meantime I'm trying to familiarize myself with all the do-dads and starting it up to hear that sweet sound coming out of the exhaust every once in awhile. Thanks again.

You are lucky that it has arrived (at last), here in Europe it is totally differend game, I got in December the message that My bike would be build starting the 13th of February. I always taught that building a bike would take the Mo Co about three days but that was not the case, I took the Mo Co until the 6 th of March before they could ship the Bike so if they used all this time to build it , they will be not making any money on it.
Since that date I know the VIN number but that brings not much, while it still is stated as being shipped for almost 5 weeks now. I do not know what type of transport the Mo Co uses to ship stuff to Europe, but even the slowest container reaches this side of the pond in 22 days  so they probably still using sailing ships or even a row boat to get the stuff overhere. You can imagine I am a bit P....d of with all this speed of them especially while the weather was beautiful over the last weekend.
