UPDATED BELOW IN THREAD:
I am thinking about installing an aftermarket amp in the fairing on my 2012 SEUC. My current thoughts are the Biketronics BT2180 2 channel amp with their Titan II speakers in the fairing and in the lowers. Here are the questions that are coming to mind:
I've noticed some posts about having to relocate different modules to install an amp on top of the stock head unit. Is this something that I need to consider on the 2012? I've only had my fairing off once so far and I have no recollection of what I saw in the stereo area.
If there are modules that need relocated, I can't imagine that this would be an easy task in any sense of the word. Just how difficult is it?
Moving up to the 6.5" speakers in the fairing, and using the adaptors to do so, I am assuming that if I want to change out the speaker grilles to the ones from Hawg Wired that I would still be able to do so. I figured that the bolt pattern and size of the opening at the fairing don't change, so the other grilles should still work. Am I correct?
Finally, this question is only asking for opinions...using the Harley lower fairing speaker pods, I was thinking about just having them painted to a gloss black, in case I can't readily get a good match on the lower fairing color. I have the orange/black bike, so the lowers are the black metallic color. Any opinions on whether this would look ridiculous or not? I thought that it may make the speaker pods and speakers themselves jump out as a nice separate upgrade and not look stupid at all, but I'm just not sure.
