On the thread subject though.  I was at my dealer yesterday and they said a black/silver CVO would be arriving at their dealership late next week.  it's direct from the MoCo, not a dealer trade...so I guess a few are still streaming out after the end of production...

I heard they'd be done by the beginning of June.

I can see the stickers under my rear fenders and they say 8-30-12.  So that would mean they were painted on the 30 of August and my bike didn't get to the dealer until Thanksgiving weekend.  So that is like a 2 - 3 month build time.

My dealer in Chandler had one more ordered after mine was delivered, and he said he was just notified that Harley cancelled the order.  He has 5 people on a waiting list for the bike.....

Good luck with that.
About the only Harley that is collectible is the one we ride the most and collect the most memories with.
Memories are priceless, the bikes we ride to get those memories are not.

Yep.  Someone will be happy to add it to their collection 10 years from now for a third, or less, of what you paid for it.

Interesting factoid...
I went to a promotion event to one of the dealers I usually do business with in my area.
They had 2 CVO Breakout Hard Candy Gold Dust/Liquid Sun/Pagan Gold graphics on display among the group of bikes earmarked as SOLD.
Since this is the place where I had left a deposit for a CVO Breakout sometime in Jan, and where I was told all CVO Breakout shipments from the MOCO had been canceled, I asked the sales Mgr. what is this all about. He told me that those 2 bikes were scheduled to be shipped to them Dec '12 and March '13 and they just received them and customers were picking up their units next week.
So much for cancel shipments...
Additionally, as the rumor mill says, next year there will be no M14 CVO Breakouts but H-D still advertise in their official webpage, CVO Breakouts. What gives!

Interesting to notice that no journalist or blogger had mentioned this unusual event (canceling shipments) and why they did it...inquiring minds want to know...

There has been speculation of a CVO Heritage Softail, but no one knows until August.  My dealer said its hard to get the standard Breakouts now....they've had 2, a black one and a blue one.  The black one sold in 2 days and the blue one sold in a week.  They don't know when they are getting another.

The Breakout really brings some mojo back to the Softail line......it's been getting "Soft" in the last few years....all the edgy designs are long gone(Deuce, Rocker, Crossbones, Custom, Night Train, Springer).  Heck I think every Softail nowadays has freakin' footboards except the Breakout

I'm sure you would find that those two bikes were part of the original 1900 CVO Breakout production run. It was only the extra 360 bikes that HD released without consulting with the paint provider that have been cancelled.

Just talked to the guys in a large TX HD dealer about the futile endeavor of trying to find a CVO Breakout.  Manager said they had 1 more coming but was "cancelled in-lieu of ordering more of the 2014 CVO Breakouts." According to him, it looks like we can enjoy another year of CVO Breakouts.

So far no one has an official answer about cancelling some CVO Breakout shipment. A couple months ago I called H-D customer service and "they" told me that they had cancel delivery of the bikes (Which I knew...) and if my order (assuming I had a deposit and a bill of sale missing only a VIN, but a serious commitment on my part and the dealer) H-D was offering a $1K "credit" toward the purchase of a different bike/model.
I had placed a deposit but I was fifth on the list and they had only 3 CVO Breakout scheduled to be receive for the next few months. In other words, I was just standing by in case of the first 3 guys would not finalize the deal and a bike might be available. Those guys on front of me on the "waiting list" were told about the shipment cancellation and they all got their money back. They were angry and resentful and they thought the dealer was selling "their" the bikes to the higher bidder...
I told the sales man that I wanted a 2014 CVO Breakout and I left my deposit for the next year model. All they have to do is order a red one and I will buy it. Then of course some one said that there will be no  CVO Breakout for 2014...who knows. I have other 3 bikes and when and if the 2014 CVO Breakout is available, I will trade-in my '06 CVO Fatboy...next year is August 2013...let's see what happen.

I ordered a red one a few months ago and it is supposed to be complete next Friday the 14th. My dealer tells me I should have it a week or two from then, I'll let you guys know.

I am expecting to take out the Cat and put on new pipes at the 1,000 mile mark. I would love to hear what has worked so far.
