great. My tuning was done before I bought the bike by a dealer using a SERT. Don't want to make an appointment now and lose any riding time with what little we actually have. How do those shields come off? Another thing, I just noticed this yesterday. Bike now has 13k on it of which I've put 12k of that on it in the last year since I bought it. Might take a while for your new one to start turning if it happens again.
There are 3 clamps behind the pipe on that top shield. 1 right where the discoloration is and 2 on the bottom collector before the muffler...

I have this same issue on my heat shield on a 2013 Roadglide did D&D send you another heat shield and if so did it happen again or did have to change your clamps?

Happened again, and again, and the third time I pulled the crappy pipe off and sold it and never looked back. I've seen a few others do the same thing at local bike nights. It's always the rear cylinder where that hose clamp is located. Good luck.

So even after D&D replaced the heat shield and you replaced the clamps you still had the same problem in the same spot!

Yes! But they won't admit fault. Was very frustrating.

I had the same problem a while ago with my Boarzilla's. When I called D&D they told me it was the tune also but said they would replace the heat shield 1 time even though they "see it all the time with bad tunes". i posted a thread here and someone suggested That I get some exhaust heat wrap and put it just under the clamp where you cant see it which is where it discolored.I have about 14,000 miles since without an issue

I thought heat and discoloring was caused by LEAN conditions and not too much fuel?  Please correct me if I am wrong.  Could this simply be an engineering flaw and poor placement of the clamps (by manu)?
Thanks

If you are asking me, there is no doubt about it. It's a design flaw. My bike is always tuned by the best. It runs amazing and they were unwilling to accept that.
