Question on chrome oil filter bracket
« on: September 27, 2006, 03:34:44 PM »

I wanted to put on the chrome oil filter bracket HD#26321-99A on the next oil change of my '06 CUSE. It does not look the same in the catalogue as my stock one. Will this fit ?

Could be mistaken here.  But think I remember reading that starting with 07s the oil filter adapater wasn't an adaptor anymore, but actually cast as part of the case.  Anyone?

If you are putting it on your 06 it should fit-Before you order the part online Check with your HD shop for peace of mind.

I believe as was said that on the CUSE its a casting and not an add-on.  I tried to add the chrome rear brake switch cover, but since the casting was different from the regular Touring models, it wouldn't fit.  Better check with HD, since the description doesn't say anything about the SE, I would bet it won't fit. :(

By looking at the picture if you have the two screw mounts then you should be able to change it (picture below). Also when looking for parts that will fit a FLHTCUSE online it does show that this part will work, but sometimes the MoCo will make a mistake and have a part listed that doesn't really work for bike it says it will. [smiley=oops.gif] :o :-[

BTW - Thanks for making me aware of another piece of chrome I don't have (and it has been added to my wish list). :D

d00d,
One of the reasons I don't post close-up pics of Elvis is that there is literally every single piece of chrome available for a SERK on it. That's how it came to be called Elvis. Beags said one day, " could you get any more chit on this bike bro." Beags is OCD challenged, - - - - - - - - -yeah right he's got a chrome swingarm

Do either you or him have a chrome rear axle for your scooter??? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] I don't have one, but was at dealer one day and someone with an extreme case of OCD (not that I'd know what that was about :D) was having one put on there 2003 Ultra. [smiley=nervous.gif] They had every piece of chrome you could add on this bike along with a flat screen DVD player in the tourpak w/motorized latch also. :o

This bracket WILL NOT FIT the 04-06 bikes. Our bikes came with the same bracket that comes with the old style premium oil cooler kit. (the bracket in the kit comes chrome). Our bracket has the thermostate for the cooler built into it. I looked into getting one a while back and the only way is to special order the part out of the old style kit. It is not availible alone. By the way the cost was above $200 when I looked into it.

d00d,
Ask yourself, would you chrome your swingarm and not the axle ?
