Torque Value for the cylinder head
« on: April 25, 2013, 01:25:58 PM »

Could some give me the torque value in Nm for the screws 2 and 3 of the cylinder head.
I have the service manual but for the 96" I don't know if the values are the same.

OK  :2vrolijk_21: so it's the same value than the "normal" one.
Thank you!

Because if you're planning to use Cometic gaskets, you'd be wise to use the Cometic recommended torque values...   :2vrolijk_21:

I use stock head gasket because I just do the front cylinder (valves were bent because of a mistake).
I don't need to use Loctite?

No! Light oil on threads and a drop or two under the head bolt flange.

Just guessing, but the site member is from France and is likely more familiar with nm vs. ft lbs.

OK effectively I didn't understood you were talking of ft/pounds, so 42 Nm was really a lot compared to the other recommendation!

I also believe that Kirby is refering to those numbers in use with Cometic gaskets.
