It may have been the wrong day for a ride
« on: May 01, 2013, 09:34:49 AM »

Monday morning kinda sucked, I put it down a couple times. nothing seriously hurt, crash bars really do their job. But I did make it to the airport, and am still walking, so it wasn't so bad.
I know I should have stopped sooner, but by the time I realized how bad the weather was getting, it wasn't safe to pull over.

Wow!!! And to think I don't like to ride in rain.... sorry to hear of the couple times putting the bike down but considering the conditions glad to hear you are alright.

If you're going to ride in that stuff, you'll be needing a scooter built for it.  Perhaps one of those ex-soviet scooters made in Siberia.  Comes with a sidehack and snow tires.

Can't imagine even trying to ride in snow like that on a big bike. I've done it on my dual sport but that's a different animal. Be safe, take a cab home from the airport.

Yeowwwww!  Glad you weren't hurt and glad the crash bars saved the scooter.  Got caught in snow like that coming into Flagstaff, AZ late one April.  Went from 50 degrees and partly cloudy to 30, clouds, straight into snow all in about 30 miles.  By the time I hit the hotel in Flagstaff, had 6" on the ground.  Makes for some interesting riding.  Feel for you but again, glad you and the bike are OK.

Hang on....Summer is a'comin'....... :orange:

MAN O MAN, we freak when we see one snow flake.

In that stuff you need outriggers with skis to ride in that :'( :P (maybe should pattern that thought)

Glad your not hurt

If I had known I was going to hit snow, I would have taken the truck. I checked the pass reports, there was nothing, so I took the bike.
