Thanks HD the only thing I would question would be. Why would you want to remove the O2 sensors instead of changeing them to a wide band unit????? I think Power Commander is going backwards.

Going backwards? The value of the narrow band sensors that come on the bikes is minimal at best. They only monitor selected RPM's at selected periods of time. If they were wide band units like the Zippers I would agree. Cost is another factor. for $300 or so you can now modify the bikes exhaust and intake. Yes you still neeed dyno time but there are already some maps on the PC website that will get you close and there will be more as time goes on.

A buddy here asked yesterday about the "new Power Commander" and we discussed the same thing Jim.  Losing narrow band bung fillers (it seems gracious to call them sensors) just isn't that big a deal.  The reason I'm as interested as I am in the closed loop version of the Thundermax system is that it will use wide band sensor for input.  If it didn't I'd not consider spending the money on it at all.

Jim I agree with you on the narrow band sensor. But if you already have a closed loop system why wouldn't you want to keep it? Yes I agree it would have to be a wide band. You can buy WB sensors for under $200.00 a pair. If I have a choice I want a wide band closed loop system.

If the HD ECM could handle the wide band sensors that would be the ticket. As it stands there are only a few out there that do the wide band. I think we all agree on the uselessness of the narrow band sensors.

What would have been really cool for the folks at Dynojet to do is to have have modified the PCIII to a closed loop system and change the sensors out to wide band.

For those looking for a good inexpensive solution to waking up the 07 motors the PCIII with pipes and the AC kit is the way to go. There are many, many people that can tune them and they are even easy enough for most people to install and setup themselves.

I'm not taking anything away from the Zippers products, I have installed them and like them. With the new closed loop system they are a step above. [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] I look forward to getting the opportunity to try one of the new systems out.

That's one reason I have a PCIII coming today or tomorrow for my set-up...preloaded with a MAP for my bike.  For $269 bucks, it will bridge the gap to going with other mods later down the road, and warranty issues on my setup won't be a worry....just pull the PCIII out before taking it in, and I'll still have a functional program in my stock ECM, installed by the dealer.

Something tells me that this will void the warranty.  I hear that HD is getting VERY strict regarding the new bikes

Yes it would have been the way to go for Dyno Jet. It would have been very inexpensive and it is a good product. I have used them in the past and actually just put one on baby brothers bike a month ago.

Terry I think your ECM has a memory and will tell the MOCO that the PC was hooked up to it. Also the maps from PC are like the ones from everyone else they get you in the neighborhood and thats it.

Mike, from my understanding, the PCIII does not "write to" the original ECM like the SERT does.  Once you stick a SERT on, the ECM remembers it being there.  PCIII doesn't do this, from what I was told. So the ECM Flash I got with the A/C and SE pipes should still be there, unchanged...the PCIII just tweaked it a bit.  Bike is running great...more power, better throttle respsonse, faster drop to idle after cranking.  Jamie at FuelMoto seems to know his stuff and they had the MAP for my bike (simple set up)...I'm sure I could get a bit more out of it on a dyno, but without true duals, I don't think it's worth it right now.  It's not lean anymore, at least.
