I will strap the little Stihl MS250 on the back... along with an inflatable raft or two from the pool. That way I'll be ready for anything! 


Just looked at the long range forecast. Lo and behold - Saturday July 20 is with ZERO PERCENT chance of precip!

Haven't seen THAT in an age... will definitely be riding that day!

Had to brag, again. Been on the NC Coast 6days now.........ZERO rain. But there's a 70% chance tonite & tomorrow. Talked to family back in T'ville. Has rained every day there.

I'm starting to think that same thing, Chip. This is getting ridiculous, but at least the lakes are full for the first time in years.

Decided to call off the Cherohala Skyway ride yesterday because the forecast was once again a 70% chance of "heavy rain". I don't know if it rained on the Skyway, but there was rain all over the area on the radar all day. It only actually rained all of 15 minutes here at the Badger Den though... once for 5 minutes and once for about 10 minutes, and not at all heavy. Glad we didn't go though - we probably would have gotten soaked.

Well, Mrs. NGH is trapped at LaGuardia right now, trying to get home.

First a 1-hour ground stop, then 2... and now FOUR. All because of - you guessed it - WICKED STORMS at the Atlanta airport, which is located south of Atlanta. They have been getting HAMMERED down there all afternoon!

Looks like more crap headed for us (blue spot) from the east, too. That weather system that moved up from the Gulf really turned things upside down. On Monday it covered over half of the country, with the center of rotation around Oklahoma City. It has had the storms moving here from the southeast to northwest, and now east to west... Quite the opposite of normal storm tracks.

This is one CRAZY-ASS summer weatherwise!

I HATE MOSQUITOS, Judy! I got some pretty cool citronella mosquito repellent granules at Home Depot that are supposed to last for three weeks. I sprinkled them all around the pool, and they seem to work well - especially for a pool in the middle of deep woods. No MOSQUITOS down there... but we DO have the Horseflies From HELL! Nothing works on those evil things, and it HURTS when they bite!

OH... and MORE RAIN... Pic is as of right now, and there is more in the forecast through the weekend. Perhaps I should fit some SKIS on the Honey Badger. This chit just keeps coming!
