« on: May 22, 2013, 01:05:32 PM »

Your not to take pic in this building  :nixweiss: but I thought some of ya would appreciate the architecture.
Could only get a few. The courts building is 1.5 city blocks x 1 block deep.

Good thing you didn't take any inside, Pete..... :2vrolijk_21:

Love to see the old buildings that are still in this kind of shape.  When was the Courts building built?  I can hear the hard shoes on that stone/marble floor and see the powdered wigs from here..... ;D

I love the internet (although my wife calls it the Devil).....from a Google search, looks like:

"The Royal Courts of Justice, commonly called the Law Courts, is the building in London which houses the Court of Appeal of England and Wales and the High Court of Justice of England and Wales. Courts within the building are open to the public although there may be some restrictions depending upon the nature of the cases being heard. The building is a large grey stone edifice in the Victorian Gothic style and was designed by George Edmund Street, a solicitor turned architect. It was built in the 1870s. The Royal Courts of Justice were opened by Queen Victoria in December 1882."

Ain't teknolige fun..... :)

Great Building  :2vrolijk_21:
Spent a bit of time there in the past whilst working for the MOD, in my top 5! you have to get up close and spend some time taking it in to really appreciate it for what it is!
