HOLY MOLY! Glad you're here to tell this tale!

Best wishes on your recovery. Sounds as if you're a fighter. Don't know that I'd be as tough as you are coming back from this.

Hope you heal up soon!

I'm really nobody special just a true to the soul motorcyclist. I've been riding for over 30 years, i was hooked when i got on my cousins mini bike at age 7. I'll never forget that day. my first bike at 15 was an enduro that saw both the street and dirt equally.
I've seen traffic increase by roughly an easy 300% since the early 1980's and the irresponsibility of driver increase by an equally easy 300%. today alone i gave more than 3 drivers the middle finger up close just for being on the phone while attempting to drive all in under 17 whole miles...lollol
i now feel the need and justification as of recently to carry 1/2 steel balls in my jacket, cut me off and I'm tossing one at your windshield.

not sure i mentioned it but the job i was offered i took and have been working there for 3 weeks now. I'm very happy with this job. if i didn't leave the hospital when i did i would have lost this opportunity permanently with no chance to make the old as$hole pay for it. the laws in the state of new Jersey suck so bad!

wow I'm long winded tonight, i think the oxycodone does that to me.
ok ok, good night all.....lol

we all know there are plenty of assholes everywhere.

NJ is probably the only state that I wouldn't be too worried about if the guy is carrying.
too many stupid people in this state.

Hi King, sorry to hear about all this crap...stupid seems rampant everywhere these days. See if they offer facet block injections for your back pain. I get to where I cannot walk, go in and get the shots and will be good to go about 4-5 days later...lasts about a year. Best of luck, and wishing you a full speedy recovery. Hopefully, justice will be served correctly for a change.

thanks for the advise flyndyna, I'm going to look into the injections.
I've got to do something for the pain, i don't want to be a junky for life. I've had enough of the pain meds.
i have little faith in the judicial system so I'm not going to hold my breath there either.

It's been awhile since I updated this post and my progress. This is NOT a pity post.
Not much improvement in the pain area except the drugs keep some of the pain to a tolerable level most of the time. There's still times where the pain gets to be too much. My foot is still in bad shape, I can't move my toes I think each toes bones are fused together. The T11 compression fracture didn't heal and is likely not going to. Fragments of the T11 are protruding into a (thecal sac?) They have also located a disk that is bulging.
The new problems that have sprung up, I now relize I'm addicted to the prescription opiates. I have decided to drop off the morphine cold. Bad idea. Considering the fact that I already suffer from anxiety, the withdraw is unreal. I'm hanging in there with 4 days under my belt I hope I'm over the hump but we'll see. Reading on the Internet this could last 2 weeks. I went from 2 30mg tabs a day last month to 3 15mg tabs a day, then 4 days ago went to 0 on my own. Next goes the oxycodones, 15mg tabs 4 Xs a day as needed for pain. Going to cut down on those first cause I dont think I can do those cold too.
Law suit is moving along but very disappointed in my lawyer. I might be firing him real soon. That's another story all in its own.
Ride safe!

Damn King, had no idea you were not speeding down the road to recovery. Seems like when life dumps, there is no end that can be seen. Sounds like you are progressing well, never give up. Get out there and do some more Mods to that scooter!!
Not to make light of your situation, but I have an official USDA Oxycontin disposal recepticle with me at all times.......just call.

Very sorry to hear about the complications you have encountered on the road to recovery. I can only imagine how frustrating it can be to deal with all the pain and then put up with the legal aspects of the accident at the same time. Hang in there King!

Wishing you a full recovery.

King,

Due to a fall at work in 1986 that did allot of physical damage to me, I'll keep it short here.  I was up to (4) 30Mg of oxy for my maintenance for many years.  Yes there are some unpleasant side effects for me but without them I don't function at all.  My Dr. had a stroke 2 years ago and gave me my script for my regular MD. to take over.  When he looked at the amount I was taking and told me that he only prescribes that amount for people who are in sever pain & very near death.  It took some time to locate another physician & then another but now I'm down to (4) 15Mg instead of 30Mg.
Not to contradict you but just to make something clear there is a huge difference between being addicted and being dependent.  Going cold turkey is not something I would advise, tried it a number of times but failed miserably and made the people around me very miserable.  You may need to work with a pain management MD for what ever length of time it takes and develop a relationship that will allow you some flexibility on the amount of meds required to function at a given time.   I will never be able to do the things I once did, but I have learned to manage my activities with the medication I take.  Among others I was on Morphine & Methadone and both made matters much worse, plays with your mind in my case.  Anxiety and pain meds can give a person a short fuse if things are not progressing or healing fast enough.  I was at the end of my rope & after a brief amount of time in the Hospital I took the course now available on a CD & Book called "Managing Pain before it Manages You"  by Margaret A. Caudill, MD,PHD.  I would not have made it or be here without it.  I'm home all day and would like to offer my time to you in any way I could help.  You don't have to be alone and as many people have learned you don't have to take all the pain with you, you can develop tools to decide on just how much pain you will take on without dragging you down.  Oh & in my case when I take my pain meds and there are people around my wife & I have developed a signal to remind me that I'm talking way to much, that is one side effect for me.  I get carried away even on this sire that's why I think I hold the record for unanswered post or the last one to answer post.

Good Luck & don't put to much pressure on yourself.  There is allot to relearn & adjust to.

Send a PM & I will give you my tel. number if you wish.
