Here's a couple of good threads. Started one when I was looking for one and got a lot of good advice. Contributed to the other.

I bought a 6X10 Legend Deluxe all aluminum single axle www.legendmfginc.com made in Michigan via local dealer here. You get an extra 3ft in the v nose on top of the 6X10 so the bike fits up nicely in the nose giving you more room behind the bike.  I would not go any smaller as this size gives lots of room to move around bike and pack extras for the trip.  I put in 4 sets of clubs etc with no problem.  I installed the Harley Wheel chock (you do have to purchase the trailer install bracket separately) that comes out with one wing nut after installation so you can use the chock if you wish for washing etc once you arrive.  I also had the floor of the trailer and the ramps LineXed.  Best money I ever spent.  They even did a Harley orange stripe down the middle of the black.  I purchased Ericson Etrack and lock rings from Princes Auto and installed on floor and on both walls.  Wall mounts secured the extras such as clubs with ratchet straps.  Ericson has good videos on U Tube with ideas for locations of track etc.  I used self taping bolts to mount track.
Back to Legend.  They are not cheap trailers but as far as I am concerned worth every nickel.  It pulled like a dream and everything is heavy duty from front to back.

Dual axle, V-nose is must. Aluminum cost more but is well worth it if you plan on keeping it long term. If you have a 130 or bigger front tire these are the best chocks I have ever used. Price wise and quality wise.

Double axles are really tough to turn when not connected because they don't pivot well. I have a feather light- 6x12, single axle with one condor chock and two regular chocks, depending on one or two bikes. Cuts the mileage to about 11-12 mpg. I love it and have used it to move three daughters to dorm rooms and Apts.

A double axle trailer will tow better than a single axle trailer.  A double axle trailer is much less sensitive to weight distribution.  And - if you have a flat tire or bearing go bad in the middle of the night - or in the middle of nowhere, it's whole different kind of problem with a single axle trainer (stranded!) vs. a double axle trailer.   :nervous:

About the only advantages to a single axle trailer are a single axle trailer is lighter, and as Indenial said, a single axle trailer is easier to maneuver when not connected to your tow vehicle.
