Hey Don, I have a question for you. Does the original turn signals that come on the bike not mount to just a side plate kit for relocating.
Or do you have to buy the whole kit. Just trying to save a few $$ for those that want to do this.
I don't know for sure Greg. Haven't looked up close at the newest SE Road King to see what signal housings they are using. Can show what to look for to easily know for sure though.
In years past the handlebar mounted signal housings, even if a bullet housing, still mounted to the old style threaded stalk with a jam nut and the harness pigtail coming out behind it. They did not have the depressed mount area that mated to the FLHX/RKC style front signal brackets.
FWIW Harley offers a kit that includes the brackets and the light housings. So you can get it all in one box. If you're signals are usable the brackets can often be scored on eBay for $50-60. So there is money to be saved.
Attached here will be a pic of the bracket with a signal housing attached. The "stalk" is part of the bracket and not part of the light housing. That will give you an idea of the depression in the housing that the stalk must fit inside of. The harness comes out of the light housing and hides inside that stalk. Red circle around the stalk to highlight it.
Pic attached to next pic will be the mounting bracket only with the face that mounts to the light housing staring at you. That will give a better idea of kind of depression you'll need to have (but probably won't) on your handlebar mounted bullet housings.
