Don't know about y'all, but I'm having MV withdrawals.   :(

Came across this quote on a web site, "A bad day in the Smokies beats a good day at work."

We have done some research on line, and we think the trees are Mountain Ash.

You can predict the length/severity of the upcoming winter
by the amount of berries they produce.

Hey Bungee,

You don't need no stinkin' berry tree to predict the winter, man it is going ot be a cold long winter no matter how you measure it up there [smiley=hat.gif]

Actually you might be surprised at the mildness of some of our winters, last year it didn't get much below -10C (14F) for more than a week or so. No snow 'till almost x-mas too.

This year they're predicting mild w/ more snow - perfect for sleddin'! Usually we get less than a foot all winter.

Don't get me wrong however, some winters are colder than a whores heart, -30 for weeks on end!

But.....  if I'd turned back to go see that beautiful scene we'd missed the turn for that would not have been the only waterfall on our route  :o [smiley=oops.gif] .

Where we stayed, Jonathon Creek's "Villa #7".
This was about 2-3 miles east of the main group.

The view from the front porch.
The odd coloring on the bottom of the picture is frost (Sunday morning)
