Hoping for the replacement Jerry.  This really is starting to suck, all these lifter problems.

Have a safe ride home and best of Luck with your future endeavors.

At Gail's HD and on Robin's lift at 9 am. Took about half hour and he located source of my fuel problem. Not up top but down below. Started making a knocking noise yesterday and it is lifter came apart causing less than perfect air fuel of course. Metal particles through motor. Hopefully moco will replace vs repair since we don't know if crank damaged. I am in good hands here and everyone has been awesome.

Dang that stinks. I wish you luck getting HD to replace the engine. They will probably want to repair it and may balk at even splitting the cases to examine the extent of any crank damage. I'm sure the mechanic will drop the oil pan to see how much debris made it out of the cam chest and into the rest of the engine.

When my lifter went it apparently wasn't as bad as yours, my lifter was still in one piece but with an area of metal loss on the roller - and of course the cam was damaged. When the pan was dropped no further debris was found. MOCO replaced cams, cam tensioners, cam chain, cam plate, cam bearings(I had the dealer upgrade these) oil pump, and lifters(upgraded to the latest SE version).

He will get new torrington cam bearings either way. Waiting on decision from MoCo at this point.
Nice to meet you and your bride.  Sorry your trip was interrupted.  We'll take good care of your CVO.

I have complete confidence that my bike is in the best hands possible. Not my first rodeo with the moco. It'll all work out with no drama.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

You're pretty calm for just shelling your $36,000 bike's 23,000 mile motor during a road trip!  A lot more calm than I'd be, anyway!  Might as well go ahead, roll the dice, and buy that first year water cooled motor whenever it comes out instead of waiting for the MoCo to get it "right."  Apparently, not even 6 years was long enough for the 110!  :o

Hope you get everything sorted out quickly and to your satisfaction!

Thanks for the welcome. I'm more of a lurker, always trying to read/learn, and spend most of my free time on HTT, sometimes V-twin, sometimes XL, actually anyplace I can fill the need for motorcycle stuff ;)

Mine just did the exact same this at 29995, two weeks before the main warranty was up.  They did have to replace the crank also, as the rods were grinding when moved. The dealer did a great job.  It runs better then new except for valve train at idle.  I went to the dealer today and they were too busy to take it apart, but they will look at it in a few weeks.  They just told me to drive it normally.

I am going to the 110 and hope I do not have any problem.  But I will make sure I look Robin up if I do ;)

Glad to see you on here Robin!   By the way, you did a great job tuning my FLHXSE3.  I really appreciate everything that you did.
