« on: July 05, 2013, 09:26:15 PM »

Is it common for the bike to backfire a lot with the fullsac setup? I hadn't got to ride any since the a stealer completed the job. I was dropped off and we went on a 1k ride seem to be great total different animal but the back firing concerned me a little :-\

Did you wrap the sleeve with insulation or leave it bare?

well I had hooker pipes on my fatboy they popped a lot. I really think its a backfire not a pop from throttle  the but I could be wrong ya know.

I used screens that Steve sent wrapped them left the baffles bare!

Canned map.....have it dyno tuned to fix the decell pop......or call Steve at Fullsac and describe your problem and sometimes he can tweak the map and send it to you and it will fix it.....not always but it is worth a try.

Before you condemn the map I would suggest a thorough check for air leaks in the exhaust system.  Large diameter straight through baffles tend to dramatically increase the odds of popping, but air leaks at any of the joints will definitely cause a problem as well.  It's pretty easy to check for leaks by blocking the exit end of the mufflers with the engine running.   If the system passes the leak test, then by all means give Steve George a call at Fulsac and see what he can do to help.

If your able to download a new calibration into your bike, I am happy to work with you on the decell pop issue.
I can usually fix it pretty quick if its map related. You will need to have Mastertune2 loaded and updated on your home PC.
