CVO speaker and amps
« on: July 06, 2013, 04:43:00 PM »

Does anyone know why Harley used different amps and speakers on the CVO compared to the boom audio stuff. Which ones are better, I'm having a terrible time with saddle bag speakers clipping fronts are good and loud but rears clip the minute the volume is tuned up to 1/2 no matter where the treble and bass is set. Any specs on amp and speaker mfg. ohms THD and power rating?

The answer I received from the dealer was
1.) don't use the ACV I need to turn it off
2.) don't add any bass or treble leave the controls in the center

Does that sound right to anyone? Anyone else having issues with rear speakers clipping?

Most Audio folks I have talked too recommend leaving the AVC on 2 bars at most 3 when using an amp.  As for leaving the bass and treble in the center... that sounds like a cop out to me to mask the problem.  I don't have rear speakers but I use Hogtune speakers, amp and tweeters.  SOunds great and it is very clear going down the road.  This setup was in the bike when I got it and it works very well.  Good luck.

I always set my AVC on 2 bars and I have never had any trouble other then my ears start to bleed at times and I find myself turning the volume down  :coolblue:
