17,000 miles out of my last set, (D407 and D408)

Soon after installing current set, I installed the Progressive Mono-tube front springs and Suspension Technologies shocks.  I'm 180 lbs, run a chopped tour pak and single most of the time.  39 psi front and 40 psi rear and check about once every two weeks.  Have 17,000 on this set and they look like I'll get another couple thousand.     

Now, If you're 200 lbs + and ride with a BSR....

Changed mine at 21k still had a bit of summer ridin on the front but handling was suffering so changed before my roadtrip last week didnt think it would get me through 5000 miles with part being in Colorado.  changed the front to american elite and it is doing great replaced the rear with OE

I changed both @ 14k. I have a month long trip coming up & sure don't want to spend a day @ a dealer having tires put on. Changed back brakes & added dyna beads at the same time.

Mine are a tad taller at 180/65/18.

Did you replace the stock 180/55/18 with these?  Do they rub or cause other problems?

No issues at all. Mine's an Ultra so it might have had the slightly taller tire to begin with. My shocks are an inch longer that a Custom also.

The RG Ultra came with sixteen inch rims, not eighteen inch.  The stock tire was 180/65B16, and it's actually about .7 inches smaller in diameter than the 180/55B18's according to Dunlop's spec sheet.

Damn Jerry, now I gotta look at that tire when I get to the office today. I could swear that rear tire I just had put on was an 18.

The CVO FLTRUSE in '11 had 18" tires/wheels on both ends.

The "regular" RG Ultra bikes had a 16" on the rear, if I'm not mistaken.

You guys are most likely correct; I was quoting the Dunflop website for the 2011 FLTRUSE, and if I remember correctly we determined it was wrong one time before.  Obviously they never fixed it, and I forgot it was incorrect.  They still don't show a 180/65B18 in the catalog though.

OK, down on my hands and knees looking at the tire. 180/55/18 is the stock size. I was wrong in my earlier post.

I have over 26000 miles on mine now and I think it's good for maybe another 1000 miles or so, although there is some cupping on the edges and a lot of noise when leaning into turns. And like another poster above, the weights keep coming off the front wheel. When I put my new tires on, I'll do my own balancing with thinner, more sticky weights. But it will be a while now because I hit a piece of 3/4" rebar on I-40 and bent my rear under frame crossmember and put a hole in my oil pan.

Wow I guess only having 2 throttle position on and off on my 2012 CVO RG has caused me to go thru a few more tires.  I have put 5 rears on since I bought it new a year and a half ago and I only have 32,000 miles on it.
