Adding tour pak audio have a few questions
« on: July 09, 2013, 04:39:44 PM »

I have my shiny new 2013 RGCVO. It is the Roman Gold and Emerald Green. The Tour Pak is being painted. I want to be able to hook up the speaker pods and subwoofer that I had on the previous bike. I have an amp that will drive the pods and sub. My question is: Is there a wiring harness that I can buy that will go from the head unit to the amp?

Who's the manufacturer of the head unit? and the amp? Are they a set? Was there a harness on/from the old bike?  :nixweiss:

If your head unit is the stock HD radio, the easiest way is to just order a "Ultra" wiring harness.

At least that's what I did to hook up my Tour-pak which has speakers pods, Airwing Led B/R light, Side marking Led lights.

I'm sure there maybe other ways to connect, but for a clean, easy way to hook up, I recommend going this route.

Good Luck,

Everything is stock at this point. The ultra wiring harness will allow me to hook up the speaker pods but I am curious if anyone has seen a harness for an amp. My last bike was wired by me but it was a pain and not as clean as I had wanted. I believe I can use a hi/low input/output and splice into the existing wires on the ultra harness and then attach to the amp, run a power and ground but I would then be stuck with a toggle switch to the amp on the on off power wire. Not keen on doing this.

This can be solved but has anyone seen or heard of a wiring harness to do this.

Time for more google for wiring harnesses.
