three wheeled Vespa...
« on: July 25, 2013, 08:34:05 AM »

On my recent trip west, when traveling thru Colorado, I saw what must have been at least an 80+ year old woman riding down the highway on a three wheeled scooter.   :)    She was probably traveling 40+ mph and had a huge smile!  I'd never seen one before, but it was very cool!   I did a web search and found the scooter - a Vespa Piaggio...  It's probably what I'll be riding in 30 years or so...

There are a couple of these running aroung Oak Ridge....very weird to watch them operate but looks very stable.

BTW Scott, are you sure it's really a Vespa and not the new Roadglide design for 2015..... ;D

Talking about old chaps riding 3 wheelers, on our recent trip to the U.K. I spotted this fellow riding all over this little town in the mid-lands of England with no idea of his age...

... until he removed his helmet.  Pretty cool little ride he has there.

PS - Notice the "L" on his bike which indicates he's a Learner!

I believe that Chip(SBB) has these.  I rode one several years ago for an hour or so and had a blast on it!  The 2 front tires make it handle amazingly.  You can do a 30 mph U-Turn in the garage on one of these!  I had a big smile riding one for an hour while my bike was being tuned.
