Having a few issues to say the least. Any help appreciated.
« on: August 01, 2013, 04:48:46 PM »

Ok here we go. I got my cvo Streetglide 2012 last aug and from day one it's Ben giving me hell. The emblem fell off the tank ons day 2 the shop scratched the crap out of my tank replacing it. Finally got that fixed then the fairing clearcoat was chipping got that replaced then radio went bad took it back three times till all components were replaced along with bad iPod that Harley would not replace apple did. So my iPod doesn't have cvo but that's fine. So the list goes on and on. Well a few months back I notice a crack in the frame were the backbone and bottom frame connect the strip of metal that connects the neck and frame together. It's cracked under the powder coating so I dropped it off on July first well two weeks later shop called says Harley is going to repair it I ask how they said have a local shop strip the part down repair it and paint the frame. I said no cause its powder coated but Harley said that's all they will do so I say screw it. Well a week later got a call that Harley is now going to replace the frame due to the shop that was going to repair it said it was to bad to patch. So now it's Ben a month and still no frame or bike. This is my main means of transportation and Harley says I can't get a loaner that's for my extender service plan to cover lol talked to them they do not cover frames but it's nothing to do with extended plan anyways because its less than a year old. So I ask to speak to a hire up and get the run around about they can't give me anyone else they can just fwd my info. So does anyone have and contact info or any advice they could help me with ? Anything would be better than nothing at this point I'm so frustrated.

I believe H-D has a Facebook page... might post all your problems on there and see how fast somebody contacts you.

If you don't already have or one spoken to one might be a good idea to seek legal counsel... does your state have a lemon law? :nixweiss:

Yes Texas has the lemon law and my bike more than qualifies from what I was told when I called but I have to file online and can take 6 or more months.

Might be something you want to start the progress on... with the track record you're having/had no telling what else could happen/go wrong. :nervous: :nixweiss:

I guess I am lucky.  I had a problem with porosity of the engine case.  And had to have that replaced.  They had it for 6 weeks but that was a parts issue from Harley.  But I already had another vehicle to drive and another bike to ride as well.  I would talk to the general manager of the store and see what and if he can do.  Not sure if that would work or not.  But the service dept. you think would care more about fixing things in a timely fashion.  Try to get a case number if you can that may help also.

Funny I bought three bikes last year and the service guys are great. But now they are being asses I guess because if all the issues. Saying I should take it to another shop. No one wants to take blame and I'm the one getting screwed. Sad that service industry has gone to chit. Everyone is rude and doesn't care. It pisses me off.

That is something you should definitely let the MoCo know... all the things that have happened/gone wrong w/your bike are manufacturer defects (accept for damage to tank when replacing tank emblem)... them getting mad, being rude, or not wanting to service your bike is ridiculous!!! :sauer005: If you haven't already or don't know it to speak with a Harley-Davidson customer service representative call (414) 343-4056. Like the previous poster mentioned call that number and get you a claim number and document everything that has been done to your bike, everything that has been said to you regarding your bike and be prepared to fight. :sauer024:

This sounds absurd!! I don't see how the MoCo wouldn't be all over a cracked frame??

Get a case # from your stealer and / or the work orders, try this HD customer service #800-588-2743

Getting a loaner bike is probably going to be near/next to impossible, however all the problems and lack of service you are getting are items that they should address and provide you a claim number for. Providing a loaner bike is usually up to the servicing/purchasing dealer as an option they provide to their customers and not something that comes from corporate.

Yea problem is it's not only Harley. Bought a new 2012 jeep wrangler and at 6000 miles 6 months old heads had to be replaced. It's a common problem but jeep won't make it a recall. Something about the plant in Mexico messed up and milled some parts wrong. It's becoming the American way. Pay more for less and chitty customer service. Sad
