the wires for my saddlebag and tourpak spoilers is all just kinda hanging out there,

I cut all 5 wires (3 for the tour pack spoiler and 2 for the tour pack interior light) and put in a 6 pin deutch connector that I can just unplug when I remove the tour pack. Now all my wires are nice and neet. When unplugged the connector just slips under the side of the seat hidden from view. Will try to send a picture.

Mrs. We,
Is the discoloration of the pipe due to the oil blow by?
Minimal oil blow by is to be expected if you run her hard but your post does not sound like that is the deal.  If the air filter is falling off, you would get substantial blow by.  Agree with JCZ.  No more dealing with anybody but the Service Manager.  And a call to corporate will get their attention (they will call the dealership pronto) and may not be a bad idea as well.  Just to let em know you mean business...

Mrs. We,
I agree with Elvis and JCZ. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  The only time I ever experienced oil blow-by, was when I bumped the Rev-Limiter! [smiley=oops.gif]  Not Good.  Later--HUBBARD

Mrs. We,
[smiley=oops.gif]I apologize.  I was referring to oil blowing back from the back of the air-cleaner, all over the push rod covers, side cover, and right hand saddle bag front.  As I stated previously, I did not have this problem, unless I bumped the Rev-Limiter.  Now, with the 54MM Throttle Body on this BIG MOTOR, I ran a braided hose from the Breather Assembly (called an Umbrella Valve on EVO'S) on the Heads into a tee, ran it between the cylinders, and down under the Primary.  OTIS engineered it.  Works Great! [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  No worries! [smiley=1syellow1.gif]  Later--HUBBARD

I took my bike into the HD shop and talked to the Service Manager, hoping to give him the opportunity to rise to the occasion and at least seriously listen to my list of issues.  He was very concerned about the air cleaner being off the bike. I told him I had an appointment in 3 days, everything could wait, but he said No, he insisted that he reinstall that immediately. While bike was in the back, it looked to me like the store was having a staff meeting around my bike.  Service Manager came back to me after about 30 minutes and the Parts Manager came with him.  Service Manager says that he has cleaned the yellow yuck off my pipes, but that the chrome is gone and all that is left is rusted metal.  That these are Vance and Hines pipes and not HD pipes so the warranty will be whatever V&H will do.  The Parts Manager called up Vance and Hines and they asked several questions which she had to ask the Service Manager about - Was the bike Dynoed, What fuel handling device was being used, what were the dyno results things like that.  I just walked away until I calmed down a little.  I am thinking a little more than $1,000 in pipes and race tuner and I don't know what labor and I get to ride my bike 4 times looking good.  MMmmmmm.  Finally I am told that V&H wants digital pictures, which Parts Manager has sent and I am to wait for an answer from them.  My air cleaner is reattached to my bike.  I asked about the gas tank size and about the low fuel light on gauge not comin on and they will have to check about gauge, but that the gas tank will hold 5.1 gallons.  Service Manager removed the wire that used to be attached to my whip and wrapped it up neat.  The colored wires that are showing from the spoler lights, he said there was just nothing they could do about that. He had no answer as to why the wires for the heated grips had not been run inside the handlebars, They are just done with me..... as in I get the feeling that they are really so done with me.

Today, I called V&H and just asked them what could cause the yellow yuck on my pipes and they said that #1, they do not reccomend the use of the race tuner with their pro pipes, but that the reason they would get all gold and yucky is because the bike had been ran too hot, most likely during the dyno.  I called HD Customer Service, a real nice lady said that the problem of the pipes was strickly for the dealer to handle anyway the dealer wants to handle it. She did say, however, that HD does not know why service departments are putting race tuners on non racing bikes and that if she were to guess, that the bike had been ridden too hard during the dyno.  I tried to make an appointment with the store owner, but was only able to leave a message. When I called back, I was able to talk to him. I explained that I had a laundry list of issues of service just not paying attention to details and poor fit and finish. His answer to me was how wonderful the Service Manager had been to me to get a new fairing.  This is such a finished issue, I was not sure what that had to do with anything, and since a call from V&H has not come in yet, there was nothing else for us to talk about.  I have to wait to hear what V&H says, and the gas gauge has been ordered.  I hope I don't get electricuted if I ride in the rain about the wires showing.

Mrs.We,
This is getting my blood pressure up! [smiley=mean.gif]  I don't know all the facts, but it appears to me the people you are dealing with have little or no knowledge of Customer Satisfaction, or the ability to address the situation at hand, and resolve it. [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  The squeaky wheel always gets the grease, Mrs. We. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]  Go to the Dealer Principal, and inform him of the situation.  You may even have to DEMAND Satisfaction!  Hey, I may even start a new Post, and see if we could start a Petition for you!  After I reread the rules of posting, that is!  Good Luck!  I just can't stand to see someone taken advantage of!!   Later--HUBBARD

Mrs. WE, you and I have exactly the same set up.  I ride the hell out of my bike and several members on this site can attest to that.........and my Vance & Hines Pro Pipe (even with Race Tuner) has not turned funny colors......it is chrome!

If Vance and Hines is not willing to get behind this, it will be because the tech. that dynoed your bike did not know what he was doing.  As I recall, your dyno sheet still shows you running lean in the mid rpm range.  I'd insist that the dealership buy you a new exhaust and if they didn't, I'd see them in small claims.  I hinted at it when I saw your dyno sheet (see my post that followed your posting) and now I'm going to say it.................the tech that dynoed your bike did not know what he was doing!  If he did, our dyno sheets would not be that far off and your A/F numbers would have been more consistant across the power band.  JMHO

The only variance between the two, is the dynos themselves and they'll not have that much of a variance.

I wish you the best of luck with it.

It's too bad the Maggie Valley site is too far away from Mrs. We's dearlership to do in a day trip.  The shop might offer Mr. and Mrs.We a greater amount of, um... understanding if 40 or 50 of her moderately smelly and closest friends all pulled in with her and stood in line at the service counter to ask what the problem was.....

Sorry to hear about your troubles Mrs We. I think that it's time to write this dealer off. Of course you need to get your pound of flesh from them first. You may have to see them in court. Even if you don't win, it will be worth making them spend the time and money to defend themselves. If they have any calculating skills at all they will see that a satisfied customer costs them a lot less than a pissed off one.
At any rate, they wouldn't see another dime of mine.

Mrs. WE, you need to find a Hd dealer that will take care of you, not advantage of you.  There's got to be other dealers in your area you can go to.  Good luck.

I can't believe the mess you have got into at that dealership.  It's those kind of dealers that give the Moco a bad name. I feel so fortunate after hearing yours and some others stories about sorry dealers. My dealer has been absolutely great about the couple of problems that I had. When I found a couple of fingerprints on my front fender and tank, I had no problem getting them replaced, and when they did replace them I dropped the bike off with very little gas in the tank. When I went to pick the bike up, to my amazement they had filled my tank full. I also did not expect that they would replace my fender spear since it was not factory but they replaced that also. Then when I was trying to get everything I needed to hook up the lights on the king tour pack I thought I might need an additional wiring harness that came on the Ultra. The parts guy was not sure so he grabbed a tech from the shop and they took the seat, saddle bag, and side cover off a brand new Ultra on the floor to trace the harness coming from the tour pack to make sure what I needed. The point is, hopefully you will finally get some help from your dealer since they obviously caused most of your problems, and if and when you do, there are other dealers out there that care about customer service and doing things right and would appreciate your business.
