Would the TTS cables work with HD race tuner?
« on: August 10, 2013, 07:54:06 AM »

Good friend of mine bought a 2010 sesg.  Has the tuner but no cables.   Wanted to adjust the idle.     Gonna go for some pipes soon,,   Says the idle is set way too high.  It came from a high altitude area.  We are in fl.    Thanks.

just don't try to set the idle too low in an attempt to get that 'potato, potato' sound.  if you go much below 1000 rpm, you will oil starve the engine, and not be a happy camper

If the cables attach then they will work. Computer side is a printer cable available virtually anywhere cables are sold.
The bike side must have the proper end for plugging into the data port. This cable is avail from TTS or HD.

That said, we have a few customers in Japan that ask us to provide tunes with the idle rpms set to 600 rpms.
After advising against it we did it...that was 3+ years ago and they have yet to have an issue.
We still do not recommend as the charging system doesn't charge below about 900 rpms.

Thanks for the replies.  The idle was fine.   He was nervous about the clunk the trans made when dropping it into first gear.  Needs some good lubricant in there and then he can see how it improves.
