Several places.  Including the factory's tech release for 2014.

I'm still confused.  :confused5: Several places of a quart or 1.4 gallons??  ???

I also think water cooled was a necessity for the Twin Cams.  We should all remember our history here...  The original design of the Twin Cam overheated when too much oil was sent to the heads and hit the drain pan, right?  Shock load on the oil pan was too much to overcome.  XLs are vastly different.  "better" design for oiling system for sure.

The whole issue, to me, seems to be the design of the heads, and... the oiling system, too.  Too small of rocker box area-vs- too much heat generated in the combustion chamber.  Oil running past pistons on the way to the tank cannot help much either.  A true redesign of the oiling system, to even GET oil cooling... would in reality be a new engine design.  Twin cam is antiquated design, which I feel new bikes, like the Indian, or the Victory have the upper hand, because their designers have the ability to take the oil to the outside, where we stick with internal oiling... thru the cylinders themselves.

This was an easy fix for MOCO to keep up with the HEAT of EPA cams, etc.  Isn't it really soon we have to get rid of tons of NOX?  Water heads just took a different casting to accomplish.  Oil scheme is still the same.

I think the days of the Twin Cam are becoming numbered.  We will all say "NO!"...  but everyone was surprised when they killed the EVO, so???

I bet this COULD give head porters some fits...  Mercury castings with bad core shift... and now a water jacket to boot!

Can Bus Touring bikes will be a HOOT for some.  There are quite a few folks that have NO clue on body modules, etc.  :)

Oh... I simply can NOT see a 110 on a stock bike... too many issues over the years.  113 stock with a 116 or 120 CVO seems more likely.  "Stock" 4.060 barrels with base gaskets.  I've always had a sneaking opinion about the true reason MOCO released the 120r anyways...  eg: will the 4.060s hold up?  Will the basic 4 5/8 crank hold up?  How are base gaskets working out in the field?

Oh... "Water Heads" works for me, too.
That's a fair point about the oiling system design.  In order to do oil cooling right, the whole system, including the oil flow path, would have to be changed.

It'll be interesting to see what further changes are introduced when the Roadie comes back.

Several spec'ing just over a quart.  I've seen the quart spec several places in MoCo docs now.  Only seen the gallon spec on somebody's uncited internet posting.

Any of you guys out in Utah may see a bunch of HD's been ridden from the Mohab area into the SLC area tomorrow. Just found out there is about 150 2014's been ridden by dealers and HD folks from around the country heading that way tomorrow. Do not know much about it all but the info is pretty good.

As far as the water volume it is just over a quart on the 2014 bikes from what i've been told.

The cooling system? As in 1.4 gals of coolant? I thought I read somewhere it was just over a quart?
I was talking aftermarket equipment. Not H-D catalog stuff.

That would be a neat trick with a bolted together frame....  ;D

Some where at the rear of the bike.
I wont divulge where as the are "fish" that will quickly copy and patent an idea. (Yes, seen it and had to testify twice.)
But it is a slick idea and very functional. He already fashioned the radiators, tubing and mounting system.
Looking from the rear of the bike, as if you were following, you wouldn't see it.

Self-important "I have a secret" bullchit rarely flies well here.  If you know something describe it and cite it.  If not it's just another BS Harley rumor until such a time as someone actually does cite it.

There's one of them now!

Since have no idea what that's supposed to mean will shift back to something topical.  So.....

Who is going to be first to buy one of these bikes so the rest of us can really help you pick it apart :drink: ?

Our test mule is due here next week. While it's a 103 and not a CVO it's all about learning what does and doesn't need to happen to be able to tune them properly.

Steve, the 103 just won't be quite as HOT as the CVO Limited will be!

BTW, Wiz got the Honey Badger all retuned on Thursday using the Flight Recorder. He changed the timing tables to the ones from one of your cals for SE 260 cams, which made my SE 259 cams MUCH happier. I got caught in a HUGE downpour out on the highway doing one of the VTune runs, and had to sit in a gas station for over an hour waiting for it to pass. Flight Recorder just wrote another file, and off I went when it was over.

Good stuff!
