Thanks Lew. The rail wasn't the object of my affection this time though. It was that silly little lens cover just above it.
It's for a project on the Road King. Since I dragged the new-to-me-old Bushtec trailer home a few weeks ago figured I might as well put a hitch on the Road King too. Had planned ahead for that when I built the bike and had the three hitch brackets in hand when the powder coating was done. Powder coated to match or not still need to hide it from the rear some.
Think rather than the V-Rail like is on the old Road Glide I'm going to use an old Springer style 95th Anniversary leather mud flap. The fringe will go with the footboard fringe and the burgundy welt bead on it will go with the footboard fringe and the windshield bag and (eventually) the saddle. If I put the mud flap on the back fender will need the rear fender light to hide the mounting hardware though. Then if I put the light on I like that old lens cover pictured above. This stuff just never stops. Details chasing details...
