I plan on selling my 2012 Dark Slate CVO street glide, riding my backup 2010 street glide and hope for a 2014 CVO street glide.  The 2 year warranty is up this December and considering the 15 times it's been in the shop for work on something, no way I would keep it without more warranty coverage and buying an extended just to get rid of the bike 6 months later seems less then optimal.

I'm gonna have to say yes to a mid year CVO, just not sure which model they will or have chosen.

With both Street Glide and Street Glide Special on the showroom floor this year, I tend to doubt they would add a CVO Street Glide.

why not they have three versions of the ultra

why not they have three versions of the ultra

Actually, they only have 2 Ultra versions this year... Electra Glide Ultra & Electra Glide Ultra Limited.  The CVO version is just called a CVO Limited.  :nixweiss:

Furthermore, the EG Ultra is now just a glorified Classic with lowers, IMO.

I believe what they are attempting to do is move everyone up a notch to a Limited and spend more money and really why would anyone buy an Ultra when they can spend $3k more and get liquid cooled, better radio, CB, heated grips, partially chrome rims, etc.???  They have now made the Limited so close to the CVO Limited, I'm not too sure if it's worth the extra $14k to go for a CVO Limited?

Don't get me wrong, I think there should be a CVO Street Glide with the SG being the best selling model in the entire lineup... Why not offer a CVO?  This year they might have been wiser to take a break from the CVO Ultra (now Limited) after so many years of consistent production, and just offered a CVO SG.

As you know with Mother Harley, wonders never cease.

I remember the days when owning a CVO really meant something special... Not so much anymore in my books.

You are all killing me. I have just sold my lovely Ruby Red SG CVO. So what I am saying is, I am ready to buy, but waiting on a new Glide. I can only hope that they come out with a mid year. That would be awesome.

I don't understand why anyone who already owns an SESG and likes it would sell it NOW, and then HOPE for the MoCo to offer a '14 or later SESG to replace it.

IF you are an SESG person and you already have one, then why not just ride it and enjoy it NOW. If the MoCo ever offers a new one, then trade or sell yours and get that one if you want it...

I decided to sell now because I got top dollar. In 6 mos or less I think it would drop quite a bit. If there are no SESG's for 2 years, supply and demand is on my side. Once the general population sees all the changes they may forgo getting a CVO and settle for a SG Special. I do want a CVO SG and understand I will have to wait. With only a few more riding months left I decided to strike now. According to a few dealers I spoke to my price would drop at least $5k in a short time and it won't be riding season.

Dealers ALWAYS say things like that. Its in their best interest. They buy low and sell high.

I much prefer to ride and enjoy my bike NOW. Plus, there may or may not ever be another SESG, and you may or may not like it as much as the bike you sold.

I hope it works out for you... but they will have to pry the Honey Badger out of my cold dead hands... along with my .40 cal S&W Chief's Special...
