14 CVO Breakout vs 14 CVO RK
« on: August 26, 2013, 11:50:14 PM »

I know it's apples and oranges but im debating between picking up a 14 CVO Road King or a 14 CVO Breakout.
My dealer has both coming in within the next 2 weeks and both are the colors I would choose. Tribal Orange/Black for the Road King or Molten Silver/Black for the Breakout. This will be the first time I have bought a new CVO.
I have previously owned a 2006 Deluxe, 2009 Street Glide, and a 2007 Ultra Classic. I thought about the new Street Glide Special but I really want a CVO bike this time around and i prefer to go without a fairing as I don't take very many long trips.
The Road King is only $1,600.00 more and you sure do get a lot for the money. Hard bags, linked brakes, new forks, wind shield, etc. The Road King is most definetly more practical.
The Breakout has cool style, its lower, lighter, and seems like it would be more fun to cruise around town on as long as you don't need to bring anything with you.
I have ridden many Road Kings but never ridden a Breakout.
I guess my question is what's your general feeling or opinions of these two bikes?
Thanks

I like the RK better myself and for me would be a no brainier.  They just look so much cooler and so many differnet way you could go with a RK

If you are going to ride distances, RK.  I keep a 06 SE Fatboy and a 2010 RG.  The RG gets 95% of my time as it is so much more comfortable, even on short rides...

Having owned a CVO Dyna I believe the RK will hold it's value better than the Breakout, it's got bags. But we don't buy these bikes as an investment. Get what YOU want, you'll be the one in the saddle.  :orange:

Breakout looks better, but RK more comfortable- test drive both and see what you think

I think the choice is obvious, Orange / Black Road King!

Another vote for the king.  Not that there is anything wrong with either choice, but for me personally I'll never own anything other than a touring bike again.  Just too many pros

I sold my Road King to buy a 13 CVO Breakout.  I've also owned a deuce.  To be honest with you I don't think the Road King was any more comfortable than the Deuce or the Breakout....unless you're hauling another ass on the back seat, then the RK is better in my opinion.  It's nice to have bags but I've put many miles on my Deuce with a T-bag on a luggage rack over the rear fender.  In fact, more miles than I ever did on the RK.  It would sure be nice to have both.  But for me it wasn't an option.  I went with the hot rod.

Had a Softail Custom which prob rides a lot like the Breakout. No real choice for me.......Touring is much more comfy.

Definitely go with the Road King, much more versatile and more comfortable, and looks Great at the same time! You will be happier in the long run. :2vrolijk_21:

Sounds like the consensus is the King. That was my guy instinct also. The bike is suppose to be at the dealer on the 15th. If the paint looks good in person i will pull the trigger.
