my understanding is that in Europe you cannot get a motorcycle license for a large Harley without showing that you spent some time with a smaller bike. They have motorcycle class ratings like we have with trucks I guess.
Let's face it; Harley must cultivate new riders. Many of us are getting older, we only have so many new bikes to own. I just bought a new 2014 Limited but my wife tells me that I'm not Harleys target market any more. I already have all the riding gear. New riders spend thousands getting set-up, I know my Harley dealer smiled every time I walked in, back in the day.
Regarding electric bikes? I don't see it in my lifetime but who knows the future. I never dreamed I would own a motorcycle with linked ABS brakes, GPS, and all the high tech stuff we take for granted. I have learned "never say never".
