If you want to stay with a HD cam the SE204 works very well in the 103.

The trends seem to suggest more lifter issues with the 110 motors. They run much heavier stock valve spring pressures than the 103s to deal with the additional weight of the much larger valves. "Maybe one of the head Gurus cam toss us some 103 VS 110 valve seat pressures". Quality lifters with any cam swap is the smart move with both motors. I'm partial to the Woods directional and S+S lifters. If you like to chug a lug the motor a lot between 2-3K rpm, with proper tuning to keep the pinging at bay, the 255s are good choice.

Thanks Steve
Thats the kind of info I was looking for.  I'm going to stay with my cam choice because I like the lowend torque.  I want a Big Block, not a Small Block feel.

103 204 cams , the lifters are not great we all know that , I feel the trend for more and more valve spring pressure is headed in the wrong direction. Look at valve spring weights on the LS engine, and valve weights and RPM range and guess what the lifter is the same and guys use the GM lifters in the bikes. " never heard of a guy using HD lifters in his LS engine though"  any ways this topic has been beat to death but the funny thing is this. Look at the lifter failures and then look at the guys that are running less valve spring pressure.. You will notice they no longer worry about lifters or lifter failure or have any clatter etc.. If you want clatter run the woods lifters. I would say 70% of them will clatter on start up every time and you get told thats normal.. HA HA hell HD tells you that now on the 2012 and newer bikes. Hyd lifter bleed down is normal and no harm will come of it.. Yea drink the kool aid.. sorry i will pass more than one way around the wood shed.
