Ah, but there is the problem if her right knee is bad and she can't bend it.

Has she given it a try form the right side? That way she wouldn't have to bend the right knee quite as much, although either way it must be difficult for her. Bad joints stink.
I feel her pain - literally - since I have a reconstructed knee myself that doesn't quite give me the full range of motion. Coincidentally, it's my right knee which is why I mount/dismount the bike from the right side so I don't have to bend that leg as much when getting on/off the bike.

Both knees, 9 ops in 8 years - 1 ligament rebuild from skiing accident, rest cartilage and joint grinding. Main problems are pain, weakness, twisting, jolting ....... All the things you use your knees for. I think she feels a sudden jolt could make either knee collapse. That's why she's anxious about the Rocker C, if only it was half the weight.

We have an Ultra and my wife gets on first. She not only has bad knees, she has a bad back also. It can get tricky sometimes getting the kickstand up. but if necessary I'll try to kick it back while moving forward a little. She will get off before I do. The kickstand will ho with no problem. We are both over 200 lbs. I may add that I am 5'9" also. I also will get on and off on from the right side of the bike. Just seems easier for some reason.

What about getting the thing OFF the jiffy stand after the passenger is on?

Seems to me that the slightest incline/decline to the parking surface would present a problem, but that might just be because I'm on the short side of 5'9".

With the bike OFF the stand, my wife (after getting a verbal ok from me) puts her left foot on the left passenger board and simply grabs my shoulder to steady herself, steps up and over the seat - not the tourpack - has worked fine for us.

Wow we have the same bike and our riders get on the same way.    If I was to get off the bike first I am pretty sure I would put a boot right into her.

As a reminder that verbal ok is very important
