Follow my trip to Maggie Valley
« on: September 17, 2013, 10:02:49 PM »

Well, we were going to leave by noon today from home but unfortunately had to make a first stop at our local Harley store.   :-\.  My issue should have taken less than 20 minutes but it took 1 1/2 hrs and I was told "We need to order a part."   :'(

So, here's my first MV picture ~ sitting on the "curvy" couch at the stealer's waiting and waiting and waiting.......  :(

We left the dealers and made it to Dry Ridge, Kentucky before stopping for the night.  Uneventful ride with the exception of the semi in front of us hauling a full trailer of tomato's without a tarp.   :o.  He's driving 75 mph and tomato's are flying back at us like grenades!   :furious2:  Flipped him off when we passed him and got off to get gas and wipe the tomato juice off my MC.  :rifle:

In for the night

Judy,
I don't see the problem with tomato juice on a red bike, now if the bike were Blue then it would be a problem. ::)
Ya'll be safe riden down.

Tomato's flying back at you like grenades....yes, that would make me angry, too.

Be careful and y'all enjoy the trip down.

Watch out for them cattle truck with the air holes all over and when you pass do it quickly. As unwanted liquid sometimes shoots out and you don't want to get hit with that :nervous:

Rooster, that is the #1 rule in the Arnold rule book of ridin'....1) Never follow to close to any cattle truck/horse trailer.
Rule #2 is "Never pass up an opportunity for gas in Montana."  And yes, there are reasons for both and why they are 1 and 2... ;D

I wish I would have known about rule number 1 before this trip because I had the experience earlier today  :'(

Started our Weds morning with a smiling Brian pulling up at our hotel.   :P.  Brian (110tHunDer) was 45 minutes behind us when he stopped for the night Tuesday.  He caught up with us at our hotel and we rode on to Maggie Valley with him.  Thank you Brian for your company and riding with us the last leg.   :)

Unfortunately, we rode in drizzle all day.  :bigcry:  The minute it stopped was when Brian put on his rain gear.  ???

Chip and Nancy took Sue and I on a tour of their beautiful land that they will be building a house on.  The views are awesome!   :2vrolijk_21:  They have a stream that goes through the back of their property that just sings you to sleep if you close your eyes!  Did I mention the views.... :nixweiss:  Mountains in every direction.

Bike was still salvageable in that pic.  Shoulda taken the interstate the rest of the way. ::)  Not even the car wash could bring it back from the dead after those 90 miles on 25E.  Damn rain!  Any ride is a good ride, though.  Let's do it again tomorrow, Judy!
