Why would there be a wire running through a headlight adjustment screw? Has the whole mounting ring with adjustment built in been replaced? All my bikes have been adjustable with an allen wrench, can't imagine why that simple system had to be changed.

Not the headlight, the spotlights.  Hollow out the bottom where the wire escapes.

Don't feel bad.  My ignorance gets taken out for walks all the time.  Only way to keep it healthy :drink: .

The recommended tool is something called a flare nut socket.  Pictured below.

The specialty socket is much more expensive than the alternative though.  Just some cheap deep thin walled socket that you take a Dremel or die grinder too and cut a notch out of  :2vrolijk_21: .

Thanks.  I bet Snap-On wants $50 for that socket!!!

Wouldn't be surprised at all.  They can be exceptionally proud of some of their pieces.  Hard to justify that for something that gets such undemanding use and even then is only rarely used when a cheap socket and a cutting wheel will accomplish the same thing.
