Fullsac Baffles (custom)
« on: October 01, 2013, 07:51:56 PM »

Well it all started off about 3 weeks ago when my wife got her new 2014 Softail Deluxe CVO and of course she wanted more sound out of it as most of us do. My salesman told me to order a set of Fullsac baffles which I did, needless to say Fullsac only manufactures baffles for Baggers! After receiving the package and realizing they would never fit I quickly got on the phone and found out why. I talkled to sandy in the front office who put me in touch with Steve who she said was in product design, come to find out Steve does progejct design but also writes the checks! Steve realized my mistake as I did and told me what I already knew however asked me to send him pictures of my wifes stock baffles and pipes in hopes he could make us a custom set. The reply to the e mail was yes with an additional charge of $40, needless to say my answer was YES also. The pipes were mailed from Tennessee to Lake Havasu City AZ on the 29th of Sept and they will be at my door this Friday. I cannot even begin to express my feeling for Steve and his staff making my wife a set of one off baffles for her bike. If any of you are considering new pipes and or baffles I highly recommend giving them a call and seeing what they can do for you. If anyone is as interested as I am on how they sound follow up with a reply and I will glady give you my number and let you listen to them.

let me know how they sound!  What size did you get??  I had already emailed them(3 weeks ago) and asked if they made baffles for the '14 CVO Deluxe and they said no.  with that I went to Rush slip ons which sound great but I may be interested in the Fullsac as that is what I'm running on my '13 RGC.

The challenge we ran into with making baffles for the Non Touring CVOs was the small but critical changes they keep making.
If we have the mufflers in hand, we can do about anything, but it becomes a custom job. During the peak of the season, its hard to walk into the fab shop with
a single pair of mufflers and tell Bill to stop a production run and build a one off set. Sometimes I have to just turn away the small jobs.
Now that we are slowing down, Bill would love to see something other than a CVO muffler on his bench. When Springers dilemma unfolded
and I was told the Wife's bike was involved, sounded like a 911 situation to me. Gotta help a Brother out.

Thanks for your comments Springer!

I totally agree. Steve was great to deal with, he helped me out a few days ago with my questions regarding my 2014 CVO BO even though I'm down-under!

I thoroughly recommend him without hesitation.

Scott.

I recently put a set of 2" fullsac baffles in my stock 13 SEUC mufflers. With the VH power duals. Absolutely love the sound. Very deep and throaty (if thats a word). Accelerating and decelerating just makes you smile. Cruising speed is a sound I haven't heard from any other bike. They are louder, but doesn't disturb the radio listening. I have to turn it up maybe 2 more notches now. But can hear the stereo clear as i did before. Which was a requirement from the wife. Even she cracked a big ol smile when we took off on the bike last weekend. Her comment "I feel like we are back on a Harley again".

The baffles were extremely easy to install. Course, I'm sure that is considering you have the right tools. A bit of advice. If you use a die grinder, be very carefull. The carbonite bits will cut through your pipes in a blink of an eye.

I realize this is probably not the proper forum for my comments. But hopefully, my comments along with others will help in your decision to go with fullsac.

Today I installed the Full sac DX pipe and 2" cores along with the screens on my FLHRSE5.

Haven't fired it up yet, still have to get my hands on a map and a set of 12mm bung plugs.

Looking forward to hearing that full-sac sound.  I've run the 2" cores on a different bike but not with the screens and partial packing.  I'm looking forward to hearing that difference. I'm expecting it sound more like the Rinehart 4" mufflers in tone, which I like.

From the incredible service they've provided to members here, as well as all the great reports you guys have provided, Fullsac will have my business for a Stage 1 upgrade as soon as the "discretionary" funds are available.

Looks like a winter project here !!   ::)

Any idea on the decibels fot the 1.75 on a CVO Breakout ?

In Quebec, we can go to 100 db at 2500 RPM...

Police is now equipped with all they need to collect more money from us...

they're also equipped in the states for this however unless someone is being just absolutely obnoxious most won't fool with you.  There is a guy that moved into my neighborhood about 6 months ago and has a vulcan.  Every morning at 5AM that he rides that thing to work rapping his pipes as he's pulling through and out the neighborhood I would love to sit out there and toss bricks at him.  Not for riding but for being stupid.  I'm up already by then so the sound doesn't bother me (i have loud pipes too) but most people are not.  Have a little respect and we wouldn't have to deal with police officers pulling out decible meters anywhere is my .02

There's a decibel meter for free in app store iTunes. Android probably has something similar. So anyone out there with a smartphone and different size baffles can maybe post some numbers. Unfortunately they're not just looking for stock stampings on the cans anymore in a lot of areas, they've gone "deeper" so to say...

Unfortunately I don't think Fullsac is an option for the Breakout at this time. You could give them a call and verify  :nixweiss:
