The PCIII leaves no trace of itself in the ECM when removed.

Actually, I felt we have a better chance of that not happening (grenading itself), because of the minimal mod's I'm doing, right from the beginning. The bike should run right instead of lean. that's why I'm leaning toward PC now. No trace vs. rewrite of ECM.

Thanks Terry. I know the PC itself doesn't. I was wondering if the lack of (disconnecting) the O2 sensors (with O2 Elim's) leave anything in the ECM, and if these O2 Elims are a simple, accessable item. You know what an anal PIA I am.

Basically, what the O2 eliminators do is provide a constant resistance at the sensor connectors, such that the voltage signal returned to the ECM is always at the value for the 14.7:1

This is definitely the never ending story.

I'm fascinated that Hoist has more or less now decided to go the PCIII, duals & K & N A/C route especially when Speedfreek and co. have categorically stated that they have NEVER had any issues with the SERT route.

Stock open back A/C, SERT and Rinehart Duals kicking out 99hp/118T/Q sounds pretty good to me, even allowing for a minor Dyno adjustment of 1-2 HP.

My Dealer has stated that as long as they do the installations they will guarantee the work and my warranty will not be voided. Sounds like an all round better bet than having to take the PCIII on and off and running the risk that they may find out that you have it via a third party or other source (chit happens !)

What a discussion this is - I'm glad that my CACO SERK is not due for another 8 weeks - maybe we'll have a resolution to the problem by then.

Though I think I'm about 90% on the way to my answer !

Thanks Jerry for clearing up the O2 eliminators.  I thought maybe you had to take the whole O2 sensor out of the headpipes but you don't.  Just unplugging the O2 sensor leads to install/remove these eliminators as well as unplugging the PC111 would not be hard even when traveling on the road and needing warranty repair at an unknown dealer.
