Nope, no dual available, so I guess you are saved...until your ass hurts so bad you'll put up with a 105 degree set of buns instead of body temp.... :o :o

TBone,

I hate to be the one to tell you  -- [highlight]they have dual controls![/highlight]

Corbin was out at the Galveston Rally this weekend and they had the "company" B&O there with that seat on with a non-matching backrest.  Very comfortable! Very nice.

I'm afraid I'm gonna hafta order it -- I recall they said they had a special going for $800 and change with matching backrest.

Cheers,

Mark

Mark,

you sure about the DC's? TC has one on his bike and he says NO. ?? [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

. . . . . . . BUT, I hope that Bob did a proper amount of leading yesterday so as to afford Terry a proper listening of the Rineharts singing their S-W-E-E-T tune! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] [smiley=huepfenjump3.gif] ;D

To think I'm always the one getting accused of spending others money. :o ;D

BTW - Terry, Rineharts sure do sound nice just in case you were wondering. [smiley=huepfenlol2.gif]

Re: Corbin Seat for CUSE - dual control?
« Reply #52 on: November 06, 2006, 09:10:00 PM »

I asked the rep standing there if it had dual controls as I was sitting on it (he said yes), but like a dummy I didnt look down to verify.

I was sober enough to ask if I had to send in my old seat to get it and if I could get a backrest that matches... (no, yes)

Would not get it without dual as thermostat control has been an issue between the sexes as long as there have been thermostats....

The site shows one switch with "dual" switches: one high and one low setting I would ass/u/me. ;D

You should not have to send your seat in. Also, don't forget to PM TC to save on the seat and rider backrest if ya like to save money!!

Dual controls schmual controls.  It's never been an issue when I've had a passenger on the red bike in weather cool enough to need the seat turned on.  They just use it how it's comfortable to me  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] .

Truth be told I have almost never had mine on the high setting.  For longer than a few minutes it's too damned hot.  Even at temps down in the high 20s it is butt baking warm on the high setting.  The rear seat apparently doesnt' get as warm as the front portion as there have been a few times when the passenger has asked for the high setting to stay on when I've had to turn it down.  So there may be some real level of variation between front and back.

I agree with that -- my GF thought she was being real funny the other night on the ride back from Galveston and switched mine to high.

She said it took about 2 min for me to yelp that my *ss was on fire.....

Anyway, I'll still call Corbin 2marrow to find out if there is a rev for dual controls vs dual settings...

Too true Mark.  High isn't just hot it is damn hot.  Really too much.  Smaller elements in the front section wouldn't have been a bad idea.

There is no mention of dual controls anywhere in the Corbin faqs...the guy was talking about high/low.

Honestly, the seat gets warm, but usually I've got two or three layers on my ass anyway, so it's really not too bad.  The back of the bike just simply gets more air, so that's probably the perceived difference in temp.  Low is about body temp, it seems, so works 80% of the time.  When high is needed, I can handle it for the comfort of the passenger back there more in the airstream.

Rineharts are on my very short list...

As for the seat, I'll make due for awhile longer since other items are farther up on the OCD list, [highlight]but if that one of Terry's looks and feels half as good in person as it does in the photos he's posted, then I'll probably eventually succomb.[/highlight] [smiley=nervous.gif]

Brian,
Trust me, the pictures don't do the seat justice.  The thing is beautiful and the attention to detail is outstanding!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
