Turkey Run
« on: October 18, 2013, 07:23:30 AM »

I live in NC and around Thankgiving I am already sick of the cold and want some nice warm riding days. To take care of that me and a few guys have rode to Daytona Thanksgiving week end. I do the family thing Thursday eating lots of turkey and enjoying the day with my family. I get up Friday morning and head to Daytona. The ride is 500 mile ride for me. Daytona has what they call "The Turkey Run" that week end. It's a massive car show. Cars in every parking lot and if that is not enough for you the speedway has their car show that consist of hundreds of beautiful show cars. Lots of stuff going on, beautiful weather and not too crowded. We stay at Destination Daytona where there are things going in there at night so we can hang up our keys and kick back. The only draw back is coming home Sunday and the Holiday traffic. We eliminate a majority of the traffic by getting an early start Sunday morning and then about the time the roads start getting full we have a nice route off the interstate and through the country. I look forward to this trip each year and thought I would share it with you. If you decide to ride down look for us!!
