Yesterday the temperature got up to 54.  It was a gray overcast day but I went for a nice 121 mile ride on the CVO.  It was nice to get out for a ride. Next couple days will be warmer, but rain.

Was sunny and 44 degrees yesterday.  So I took a ride on the CVO, 135 miles.  Hit 20K miles, noticed the volatage was jumping all over the place, from about 12 up to the red line I guess of 15 or 16.  Got home, and stopped the ride on the HD App.  There is a recall on my bike for the red regulator wire possible rubbing on radiator.  They will be checking this on the 20K service.

3 day trip to the hot springs !!

Took a little side trip to Yucca Valley Harley dealership ( closed for a few years) RIP Hutch!

On the way back yesterday we stopped at the Paradise Cafe for breakfast and noticed icicles on the patio, must have been cold overnight! LOL

Good trip with good friends!

Looks like you had a good ride.  That old Harley dealership looks pretty cool.

I road the Pan America 235 miles yesterday.  It was a gray 49 degree day.  However it was still fun riding the twisty roads of east TN.

Rode the CVO Road Glide over to the dealer for the 20K service and have the regulator wiring recall done.  Ended up getting a new front tire.  The 56 mile ride home I had a couple issues.  The volt meter was still jumping between 11 and 15 volts.  About 1/2 way home the warning light (triangle with ! in it) cam on.  Then it wen t off and came back a few minutes later.  About 15 miles from home it developed a horrendous knock under load, but sounded fine no load.  Had to ride it like that a couple miles until I could find a place to pull of.  Well it quit before  I could find a place.

Got home with out it doing it again.  Pulled the Code.  ECM code P165500, Cam position sensor or position actuator issue, either the component issue or communication with the ECM

Sucks that a new bike would have issues like this!
A call to the dealer to come pick it up and take care of the problem seems to be in order!
Looks like you’ll have to ride your backup bike for a while, LOL

Was the bike working fine BEFORE you took it in to the dealer? Maybe something connected to whatever they did with the recall?
I’m sure they’ll figure it out. :nixweiss:

Well that kinda sucks, just get 20k service and then have issues riding home. Was the code historic or current? I ask cause my wife has the 2023.5 CVO Streetglide and her bike will toss a random code out there once in a while. Usually when I go to check its a historic code and I can clear it. I was told that now days our bikes have so many sensors for so many things that if by chance one sensor fails to communicate with the ECM or BCM for a millisecond it throws a code. It will correct the communication issue immediately but still show the code as historic until cleared.

But in your case the volt meter bouncing around and engine noise sounds like concerning issues. Good luck I'd like to hear the outcome if you don't mind posting it.

Yeah, my 2023.5 CVO Road Glide has given me concerns with both “check engine” and “warning” (triangle with exclamation) lights, too. Dealer has been challenged twice now trying to resolve - once took three weeks, and another took two weeks. So-far, I’ve not been bothered with them again - but it’s winter here in Colorado, an$ I’ve only put a few hundred miles on it since the last time. I’m glad (at this point) I purchased the extended warranty on this (and the last) one (after my 2014 CVO Road King had an engine failure).

Wish you the best of luck!  It will work out, have confidence 😎

No codes when I took it into dealer.  Volt meter was bouncing between 11-15.  Only issue when it went in.

While they had it they did the recall, rerouted the regulator wires to make sure they couldn't rub.  They say and the paper work says charging system tests good.

Everything seemed fine when I left.  It was about 10 miles or so volt meter started bouncing again.  The code (triangle) came up about about 1/2 way home.  Then the knock.  Then knock went away.

Bike has been shut off.  When I turn it on there is no code, then in about a minute I get the code.

Yes it could be related to the dealer doing the recall, could have bumped or moved other wires causing one to be loose.  It could also be an electrical component failing such as cam position sensor, cam actuator or ACR or wiring to one of those.

I'll worry  about it after Christmas when I get back from Orange Beach AL.

Wish you the best with all that!

Scheduled mine for the regulator recall yesterday…
…they’re gonna do it when I take it in to install the Extreme Wedge air cleaner, a set of
Krome Werks slip-ons, the tuner kit and do a dyno tune (next week if the a/c comes in).
Gonna add a little more “bark” - you know, irritating the bride!

Yeah, I do like the look of the Heavy Breather set-up.
I had that on my 2014 CVO Road King.
As a fella that’s “bigger than the average bear” @ a bit over 6’4”, I found the HB
to impact leg room a bit, and the Extreme Wedge is a bit narrower profile.
It’s really nice that there are so many options for just about everything on a Harley!
