Thanks for the pics, I ordered the V-rail and hitch today.  :2vrolijk_21:  Doc

So I guess your keeping your 06 watermelon? The market is bear right know and I see know let up in site :)

Get the J&M wiring adapter to hook up your wiring it will keep you from cutting the stock wiring. Go to the web site and look up trailer wiring for the part number.

I installed the Street Glide "ground effects" fender extension.  I also installed the brake light/tail light option in it.  It covers the Bushtec trailer hitch nicely.

I just installed a rear bumper off a std Ultra this past weekend.  Already had the "Deluxe softail" fender trim that is rivoted on and is still in place.  Picked up a take off 08 bumper from Ebay for $36.00 including shipping.

Was going with the Vrail but I don't care that it is OPEN and you can still see the hitch.
The chrome extension that Scott used or better yet the Streetglide tail piece 2Lane used hides it all .  Didn't price the Strretglide extension but I guessed I would have $500 in it with painting.    :nixweiss:

May change this winter, but it does a nice job of covering for the price.  Almost bougth the chrome filler that replaces the rubber bumper, but didn't think it would do a good of job of hiding the lower hitch (the rubber bumper juts out).

Here's a picture with the coupler.  Thanks Don for the install tips.   :2vrolijk_21:

The FLHX rear fascia is the very best for hiding everything.  Not just beneath.  The brackets on the side are completely behind it also.  You'd have one hitch though.

It will not cover any holes in your fender for that rear fender trim that's already there.  That's why I didn't use the FLHX part for the SERG when its hitch went on.  SERG has stock a large rear lighted fender trim.  That fender will have several holes in it.

Even small rivet holes wouldn't be hidden though.  So switching to the FLHX rear fascia would mean not just painting the Street Glide part but painting and filling the fender also.
