I have a 113" Ultima motor, but have not yet fired it up.  When I did my research I found a lot of great comments on the Ultima motors.

But from what I've found all of the El Brute motors are EVO style single cam motors.  If that's what you're looking for, I think they're a good value.  I know a few people that have used them in EVO touring bikes and love them for their performance and reliability.

I bought all my Ultima stuff through Jireh Cycles in Festus MO.  I'm only 40 miles or so from them and did all my orders as customer pickups.  They only sell items from the Midwest Catalog, so if Midwest has it, Jireh will sell it the cheapest.  I bought a lot of my repop chrome for my '76 FLH rebuild from them and the quality, albeit off shore items, they were good quality and fit nicely.

If you're looking for custom items, ignitions, lights, batteries, tires, Progressive items, other brand name items, you cannot find them for less than Jireh.

Good luck with your motor choice.

I have a couple of friends running Ultima 113's and they love them. More reliable than a 110. Mostly because it's an EVo type motor.

The Evo was one of the best motors HD ever produced. Might just go that way when time comes. Do they make them for the new frames '09 & up?

I thought that I saw someone was making mounts for EVO's into twin cam frames. Not sure where I saw it, but I am sure if they are not available someone could fab some up for you.

There are mount adapter plates in the aftermarket to use Twin Cam engines in an EVO frame.  Have never seen the reverse though.  Have also never seen an Evo actually in a Twin Cam frame.  With a welder and some fabbing skills I've no doubt someone could get there.  But it's not an off-the-shelf bolt in installation.  Just thinking about might be easier to fab up in a Dyna frame.  Tougher on the others.  You are making parts to put it in and perfect the geometry no matter what though.

I had the 120 in a custom build 5 years ago  it was strong and pulled like a horse was kind of scared of the bike  it was raked out almost 10 feet long  so i never twisted the throttle as much as i wanted... did have a with rocker box bolts just snapping off  :o   replaced 2 of them under warranty  sold that scoot soon after ,never been so happy to see that scoot roll out of the driveway..............

I did a lot of testing for Ken Francis when he headed up the Ultima engine program. The engines, IMO, are VERY GOOD. The 120" and larger engines have their limits as any 4 1/4 " bore V twin motor will. I have had 2 127's with over 40,000 miles on each knocking on the decent hp door in my FLHR.
The 113" Ultima's are bullet proof, and can be made to make big power and torque.
Contrary to rumors out there, just about all of the parts made, and used are made in the USA.  ;)

Umm, bolting an Evo into a TC frame, of any year is sort of a bolt in operation. A guy in town has done it.

Use a complete evo engine/trans with oil pan, and primary drive along with the swingarm adapters from Custom Cycle Engineering (or several other companies). The engine and drive train assembly will simply bolt right in. Use a nose cone style ignition system for easy wiring, throttle by cable switch housings, and either a gas tank from a carb'd bike or a petcock adapter from pingle and call it done.

This is not hard.

Would love to see a step by step of the process.  Or even some detailed final project pics if you ever see the bike.  Would be very interesting.

Have looked around at the usual hot spots, he may be deployed (I am located at Ft. Bragg, NC).

But again, not really much to out of the ordinary to see. This is really a bolt-in deal. The front engine mounts are the same, the rear mounts require a simple adapter. Just comes down to plumbing and electrical. I think he bought a bike that for whatever reason didnt have an engine.
