Just got my new Chubbys from HD_Dude about 10 minutes ago UPS. Can't wait to get em on Los Dragon. The set I have on Elvis are super. Stock RG has 1.5" rise, so I went with the 10.5" Chubbys.Pullback and drop are different so these should be just right. I was only off by a bit on my recent trip, but sometimes that little bit can be enough to create a lot of fatigue. Anyway, got a good discount from Jim and as mentioned these bars are far better than anything H-D makes. Coming from me ( a guy who bleeds H-D oil) that's sayin a lot.

Ok, I had heard you were getting your clutch fixed so you could turn loose all those "ponies" you have in that motor. Now I'm just wondering if you twisted the throttle and felt so much TQ/HP that you broke the handlebars holding on???? [smiley=nixweiss.gif] ;D

So just what is these Wild1 575 chubbys and why would I want them  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]  [smiley=nixweiss.gif] [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

The other guys have beaten me to most of the "why you should" stuff but I'll add my 2 cents anyway... the bars feel more "beefy" and secure ... no logic here just a feeling. Comfort level is immediately noticed and felt. No need to change anything except the front brake lines and manifold. The grips and control "pods" attach very nicely to the bars which are conical at the ends to accommodate the hydraulic reservoirs for brake and clutch. A very clean look is the result. An added plus is that the bars are chromed and finished to "show quality". The money you will pay for the bars is well spent. You can do the install yourself if you've been wrenching for any time at all. I highly suggest you obtain a shop manual and the supplement. You'll use it for other stuff down the road anyway. If you have questions, just ask. There's a lot of 1st hand experience on this great site!  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] ;)

Figures, I have two Techmounts.
What about the grips and the control pods?

The symptoms both you and Don described I can relate to. I remembered that Don had did it already and meant to check out the bike at MV, but we just kept so busy, and when there was "down time" I was "down the road".

Duane...grips and all controls fit...the bars are 1" where the controls mount, and where they clamp to the risers.  But, where the tecmount goes, they are 1 1/4" :(

Duane,

If you want to try out these bars before you buy em, you are welcome to come to Memphis and take a scoot on the Lil Banana and see if it suits your fancy. While your here we can go do Beale Street for a little Blues and Barbeque! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

Oops, let me extend that invitation to anyone else on this here site! Thank Ya, Thank Ya very Much!!! ;D Oh Ya, God Bless! [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]

OK JR,
Of course I'll have to go by way of Maggie Valley, so 13+ hours plus, what did you say you were from MV, another 8?

I'll bet that ride would convince me about the bars!

Blues and BBQ sound good too.

;D  Duane, we are closer to you than JR is, you can always swing by here too if it helps.  Or anyone else who lives closer to VA then TN.  I did not even think about the handlebars.  When the bike was brand spanking new - before it's first service, on the advice of members here, I ordered and had the Wild 1 Chubbys installed.  They are great.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
