I have used the Flash to Pass system before...on my '11 SERGU, my installing the HID headlights conflicted with the functioning of the HD transmitter.  After fussing with it, I had two choices...install a relay to isolate the function of the transmitter, or buy the Flash to Pass.  I chose the latter and it worked perfectly.  On some older garage door openers, the receiver may need a power supply, but that is simple...you can either buy one from them or you probably have an old charger laying around that will work.  I did. On the installation in the "new" house I'm in now, it did not require the power supply.

I would recommend taking your receiver to your dealer;  ask them to sync your bike up with the receiver. They will find out real quick if you have anything wrong, once everything is synced up it will make installation of the receiver a snap. All you will need to do is install the receiver to your opener and that's less than a 5 min. job. you will love it. IMHO

If that needs to be done, why would the instructions not say so? That way people like me don't get frustrated.  Heck, I almost pounded the damn' thing with a hammer. :)  I'll have to ask them when I take the bike back for any # of the other things that need fixing....:(

As I recall,  the receiver portion plugged into an outlet and had a pretty good length of "attenna cord with it"..........I wired the thing so that the extended wire,  went up to and was "twisted with" the short attena wire hanging from the existing opener.

Mine works pretty good, sometimes I need to "click" the high/low beam" a second time, but normally work OK.

I, when I got my 05 SEEG, bought a male and female headlamp plug from the dealer, I installed the garage door opener wires into the correct pins on the new plugs. I just removed the headlamp, unplugged the headlamp and plugged it into the adapter I had just made, plugged the other into the existing headlamp plug and ran the power wire to the cigarette lighter, which I didn't use, to operate the opener and was done. Blink the headlamps and the door operates. I removed this jumper harness and garage door module from the 05 when I sold it and replugged it into the left headlamp on my new SERG and have been good ever since, easy / peasy.
All was good until last month when I replaced my garage door and opener, I had read on here about the problems so I told salesaman before purchase I would only buy if he would guarantee my Denali, company car both having Homelink and the bike work before they left after install and if they could not make any of them work they would reinstall my existing door and opener and I would not pay them a dime. He wrote same on order and signed it. It would not work when they started to program, they called Chamberlin, worked all day until after dark from 7:30 am start and finally said it just will not work, i would not let them leave and demanded they reinstall my door opener, They changed opener to a 3/4 hp carriage house opener, knocked off a hundred and left around 9PM. Bike operated opener works great and so does cars, Door literally flies up and down. Works great. Company owner called, about half pissed next day and said he realized they had been "played" during discussion with salesman and the didn't appreciate it, I gave him a fu and hung up. Called better business bureau and yesterday got a apology letter from company and a call from him saying he was sorry would I please update feedback to BBB.

In the process of installing this garage door solution. For less than 1/2 the HD solution, I can open and close my garage door from any iPhone, iPad or internet connected device. I can see if the door is open or closed from anywhere. I can open or close the door from anywhere. I'm always carrying my phone when I am on my bike so this just made too much sense.

My neighbor installed it on his door and it works like a charm! Works with most garage door openers newer than 1998.

There is an exception that people need to be aware of.  If you have a recent "smart" door opener from Chamberlain or one of the other brand names they make like Liftmaster, Craftsman, etc., you may have to do a work around for the actual connection to the opener.  The type I'm talking about has a multifunction "smart" wall console that uses a two wire connection to the opener to control many different functions.  If you follow the instructions from Harley on those and just attach the two wires from the Harley receiver to the two wires from the wall console, either at that console or at the opener itself, you'll find it won't work.  One relatively easy work around is to find the actual contacts on the circuit board of the wall console that the open/close switch operates and solder the two wires from the Harley receiver to those.  Someone posted a photo of the circuit board and the contacts involved on one of these GDO threads some time last year.

Aside from some of the more "exotic models" in some earlier threads, has anyone installed the HD electronic garage door opener? I think it's been available for some time now but how is it to install on lets say a 2013 SERK? Do I have to remove the tank, get additional harnesses etc. How about the other end? Does it just wire in parallel with the wall switch in the garage? It looks like a pretty good setup if it's not a nightmare to install.

Thanks,

Evo

just installed the Harley GDO on my 2013 cvo road king.  Took 1 hour.  Absolutely no tank removal.  The transmitter sticks to the frame near the fork and the wires go thru your headlight nacelle.  (you remove the headlight)  You splice the 3 wires from the transmitter into 3 wires on the bike.  All wires are color coded. Piece of cake!  button it up and you are ready to pair the transmitter to the receiver.  An extra set of hands would be helpful.  Like I said 1 hour and it was done.  good luck

Ok. This is installed easily? Will it work with the LED day maker lights?

The eBay priced flash to pass seems reasonable at $65

Have to agree with GRC on the Chamberlain openers.  It seems the H-D opener, specifically the receiver tied into the opener, emits a signal that "confuses" any other openers in the garage, rendering their performance at something akin to non-operational.  I unplugged the H-D receiver and life got notably better, although I did substitute a Chamberlain key-fob transmitter that hitchhikes with me in my pocket.  Okay, so I have to stop and fish out the other opener rather than flash my high beams...not a real inconvenience, thank you. If it's snowing and/or raining while I'm heading for the garage the chances are that I'm already wet and/or cold. Mother Nature ain't always kind; get over it.

I have had this installed on both doors now for a few weeks and it is fantastic! $85 all in and about 45 minutes to install and now I can control the doors from anywhere from any cell phone, iPad, or any computer with internet connectivity. I get visual assurance the doors are open or closed and can even get e-mail alerts when they open or close if I wish.

Five star product at a great price!

Did very similar....except.... wired the opener into an ignition switched circuit with a dropping resistor.

Trying to install a flash2pass transmitter on the 2015 ultra limited but the instructions don't match what I see inside the fairing. According to the f2p instructions, all harleys except for Vrod have a three wire connector for the headlight and they recommend the 2 outside wires (one black and one white) for the transmitter. This is exactly what I did on the BO. However the limited has a 4 wire connector for the headlight with two middle wires blue with a yellow line and the two outside wires one black and the other one blue. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.

I have run the garage door open on every bike we have owned since 2009 except the 03 Fatboy.  Have it on my 13 CVO King, my 15 SERGU.  Its also on my wife's 15 RGS and her 09 Heritage.

One receiver and 4 transmitters.  Never had an issue with it.

Receiver than came with the 15 is still in the box.  Love the flash to pass feature, as no longer do you have to go low-high-low, just hit flash to pass once.
